Superb value for money and all the food is freshly cooked. I've been a regular visitor for many years now and would strongly recommend the large breakfast which includes a free coffee or fresh pot of tea with extra pot of hot boiling water for those who enjoy 2/3 more cuppas at no extra cost. I haven't found any where else in Town who provides similar free of charge.
Please note, if there's anything on the breakfast you dislike, ie no beans or tomatoes, then Fred the owner will provide you with an alternative ie extra Bacon, Egg etc.on request
Don't forget to ask for Fried bread, which really compliments your morning breakfast.
The Staff are extremely polite and helpful and the toilets are spotless
There are tables in the back of the building which are out in the open but all under cover. Recommended in the summer months.
My favourites. Big Breakfast. Beef Burger, fries and a chocolate milkshake followed by a selection of one of the home made cakes.

Read moreHad lunch there today , and my partner had beef. Hers was fine, i had my cod and chips and a slice of bread and butter, mine was awful, the fish looked like a piece of frozen birdseye that had just been fried from frozen and was burnt, indeed most of it was burnt batter with very little fish! the chips were fine but the bread and butter wasnt even cut correctly and the butter was in blobs and not even spread on.We also had a pot of tea for 2 at £5.20!!! which consisted of a small steel pot with 2 tea bags in that provided just small cups and another pot the same size with hot water (how is that different to a pot of tea for one? thats £2.60 per tea bag) all in all very disappointing, wont be going...
Read moreHaving cancelled our already paid for breakfast at a well known franchise when their robotic system wouldn't allow us to substitute anything other than yet more hash browns for the unavailable eggs, we tried The Ploughboy. What a contrast. Friendly helpful service and home style cooking. Really could taste the difference. It became a continuous source of amusement (at the other place's expense) when one person after another had their requests for swapping menu items was met with a friendly "of course you can" bread and butter instead of toast and butter should, like here, be a given. (Not in the autopilot venues of course). Highly recommended for all these reasons. Great food and...
