Love love this pub.... its got the most cozy local pub in the village feel about it. Everyone is incredibly friendly. The owner and bar staff are all very attentive and provide a fabulous service. The food is lovely I've tried most of the menu and have not been disappointed. Definitely try the roast dinner. Portion sizes are generous and you get value for money.

Thought we'd call in for a light lunch. Opted for sandwiches. We had the ham, cheese and tomato. Great sandwiches. Doorsteps. Price included a portion of skinny fries, salad and a delicious homemade coleslaw. In essence it was more a meal than just a good old sandwich. Thoroughly enjoyed it and very filling. Service was very good and attentive.

Exceptional We called in for lunch and were so surprised. The quality of the food is immense. We had a ploughman’s to share and some other small plates. The Scotch Egg was simply amazing. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere and impeccably cleans and well maintained. Highly recommended!

The man and woman who first sat myself and my friends down were lovely and very welcoming, but I was made to feel real uncomfortable by the chef. Being vegan, I tend to not ask for menu adjustments because of not being treated particularly nicely for it before, but my friend asked if the veggie burger could be made vegan at all. The chef then stormed out about 5 minutes later and said "right who out of you is the vegan" I said I was and he gestured at me and said "yeah I thought so" and he cheered when we said we wanted to settle up. It was pretty rude to be spoken to like that and I felt really embarrassed. If it had been a problem making anything vegan I'd always said I would have been happy with chips to make things easier as I know it's not...

Table for 8 Sunday Lunch (70th Birthday)

Food was excellent. Only knocking a star off as we didn't realise on a Sunday the other items on the standard menu are not available and it's Sunday lunch's served only and there is no children's menu.

We had some disappointed children (adults were more than happy). It would have been nice to know this when booking on the phone the day before is my only negative feedback.

When I asked if they could maybe do some chips for the kids the chef refused. Maybe just one to bear in mind for familes if you were going to go on a Sunday and this is helpful to know.

Service on the day though other than the above friendly enough and atmosphere and setting...

Went as group of 18 and preordered for Sunday lunch. Waited ages for the few starters and eventually mains. Mains came out, Waited for veg in side dishes plus gray plus no apple sauce/ horseradish had to keep asking? Not impressed , appreciate difficulty of large group booking but don’t accept if you can’t cope!! Most of us would not return on that experience! Food barely warm when all dishes materialised. 3 staff not sufficient at busy times. Lovely village pub I’ve known for years with lots of ups and downs and I feel not showing it’s...
