We have used this pub on many occasions prior to lockdown. This is our first visit since lockdown and obviously the way the pub operates has changed through no fault of their own. We ordered 2 X carverys. One veggie and the other meat. The carvery is no longer a carvery it is a Roast dinner as you no longer help yourself. Where do I start. I went up for the Veggie one and I informed the server. He grunted at me and the proceeded to just plonk the vegetables on the plate with no care what so ever. He the handed me a tiny gravy boat and what he described as a nut roast. I paid for a larger roast and honestly my son who is 7 would have had more than what was put on my plate. Anyway I sat down to eat only to find that the veg was Luke warm at best, the nut roast had absolutely no flavour and was also cold and the roast potatoes were tough as if they have been either re heated or just standing for a very long time (see photo). Again they were also like warm at best. The photo attached is the meal I left after eating the peas, 1 potatoes, a piece of nut roast and 1 carrot. (Possibly the first time I have ever not eaten a meal out) Ā£10 for this is appalling, tasteless and cold. Honestly if you are looking for a roast dinner goes elsewhere as this pub has completely gone down hill. I also informed one of the young staff that my meal was not good and they went off from the table only not to return. When we went to pay I then said to one of the managers, I believe, that we didn't eat the meal. He just removed it from the bill without a question or apology. Very disappointed indeed which is a shame because because as I said before the pub food was previously good. šŸ‘Ž

Absolutely the best around, food and drink 100% , i cannot recommend this establishment highly enough, The Staff are amazing, although always rushed off their feet as the Inn is so popular, nothing is to much for them, i will keep coming back for many years, the childtens area with its slides, climbing frames ball park etc keeps the children amused, whilst the adults can chat etc, Its by far the best we have found around Cornwall. The only Dodgy bit is Steve the owner 🤣 No seriously Steves great, and has an amazing personality, Topped off by the live bands that play there on a weekly basis, who are in themselves, All top notch, and will guarantee you have an amazing evening, or whenever you choose to go there. If your thinking you might like to try The Quintrell Inn, dont think, just go, you will be very pleased tou did, and will definitely go back time and time again. RATING 10/10

Stopped for a carvery on the way home, have driven past it many times. Lots of lovely sports memorabilia once you get past the smokers sat by the main doors. Met by a lovely member of staff, but no explanation of how to order etc once seated. Opted for a standard carvery, which looked great on others plates. It's not really a carvery as the food is put onto the plate for you. Really disappointed with the quality of the food, it seemed like frozen veg and the hardest roasters I've ever eaten, the beef was dry and pale and tasted odd! Left most of it and wasn't even asked if there was a problem! My husband had nut roast which was like eating cardboard! But the puddings, well they made up for the main course. Amazing cheesecakes with clotted cream! I think they need to concentrate on quality and not quantity, as in how many people can be crammed in!

We were visiting for the week, after reading some reviews we decided on visiting this place for a carvery. The food was lovely, it wasn’t a carvery as you’d expect. 1: We had to wait to be seated was taken to an area we couldn’t sit with the dog, even though we had a table booked which we made a day prior, then to be told we had to move! Then we had to wait to be served which took 20 mins to order our carvery, then went to choose our food, and well like any other carvery we had been to, we help our selves, well here we don’t we are served our food at which we had to wait for the server he was in the back, had to ask someone to get him for us as we’d been waiting a good 10 mins to be served again for our food. 2: The customer service was shocking, no smiles, just miserable staff, especially the guy with the dark hair and mask who served the food. What happened to service with a smile. it was as though they didn’t have a clue what was going on tbh like headless chickens!! 3: then our drinks didn’t turn up untill we had nearly finished our food and they were the wrong drinks too, no apology nothing just a Ohh!! we had another wait for our correct drinks order to come over, the guy who brought our drinks over did apologise for the mistake and our wait he was a young guy very pleasant and friendly.

Over all the food was very nice but the service and the pub could be a little better organised and staff to know what their roles are and serve people with correct orders. yes mistakes are made that’s just human error, can’t be helped sometimes, but the way this pub was run was shocking and service with a smile wouldn’t...

Bit chaotic. I'd booked a table weeks ago for 15 people but they only rang the day before to ask us to pre order food. My husband and I were both pretty busy that day and it took the rest of the day to get everyone's orders together. We emailed later that night with everyone's order. We all got to Quintrell and were shown our to our seats which was in a lovely secluded area which was perfect. There was no highchair that I'd asked for so I had to find someone to ask but it was brought promptly. We waited for qtr of an hour for someone to take our drinks order before my son in law went to find someone to ask. He was given a piece of paper and told to take our drinks order. No one told us when we arrived that we had to go up and order our own drinks. He mentioned we'd pre ordered food and there seemed to be confusion over this but eventually someone knew about it and our food was brought promptly apart from mine and my mums which seemed to have been forgotten so we had to wait while everyone else tucked in. The food was delicious though and well worth the wait. It was my birthday and a cake was brought in then taken by the staff to slice up which was really kind of them then brought back on a large plate. We thought some small plates and cutlery and napkins would arrive but they didn't so it all got a bit messy. So it wasn't a brilliant experience but maybe they were short staffed or some of them were training. It was busy as it was Good Friday and the experience we had won't stop us going back...
