Treffry Tavern Table Table — Restaurant in England

A party of 14 neighbours and friends met for a Christmas meal. Words fail me!!! There was hardly anyone in the restaurant. The food was disgusting. The Turkey was like plastic, the roast potatoes were frozen, as were the sprouts. They were rock hard and the parsnips were hard enough to stab someone with. One of the party ordered a vegetarian burger and when it came, it had Turkey in it!!! It was taken away and by the time the veggie burger came back, we had all finished our main course and the person couldn't eat it. It was like rubber!! We didnt believe that there was actually a chef on duty. Everything had been plated up and microwaved. The desserts were bloody awful too. The chocolate brownie was like a brick! There was no cream custard or ice cream to make it edible. The two staff serving did their best but our evening was marred by the awful food. When it came to settle the bill, that was chaos too. Some were charged for food they didn't have and other items were put through the tills as different items to those that were eaten, or not, as the case may be. Also, we had to vacate our table by 9.30pm. The only good thing about the evening was the company. Despite the shocking food, we made the best of the evening. In a nutshell, we were all disgusted and thought a chain like Premier Inn should have done so much better. If you are going to charge for two or three courses, the least you can do is make it edible. Don't arrange your "special occasion" at Table Table, you'll be disappointed . The person who arranged the evening is awaiting a phone call from the manager, fingers crossed this won't happen to ...

I cannot deny, a pleasant surprise! Having eaten here before I thought I knew what I was in for but it far exceeded my expectations. Lots of parking here, very convenient location just off the quintrell roundabout. An unplanned last minute lunch having found a few local places closed I'm glad we were steered into the Treffry. The staff first off were very welcoming acknowledging us instantly and attentive throughout no matter who approached us all were very kind and high spirited and I want them to know I really felt their presence in a positive way. The Christmas menu two courses for 15.99 was too good to pass up. My beef wellington was a small additional charge but I was happy to pay and would have been happy with either meal at our table. Despite being busy and having a few large tables in food arrived promptly. Again very pleasently surprised to see a great dish, hot and cooked to perfection. Both meals arrived together. Roast potatoes were great extra points for them alone. Having thoroughly enjoyed our mains we wanted to show commitment and have the extra course which could have been starters or desserts personally I couldn't have done three courses and struggled with the two, the sweets were a journey in themselves alternating flavours and textures the deeper we delved. We were able to book online & specify we needed a table with space around it as my powerchair is 150cm long.

Plenty of space to manoeuvre inside around other tables which I liked.

They recognised me on arrival, we were put in a little bay with just two tables which meant I wasn't in the way of anyone passing.

As usual, my powerchair was too high to use the table but a manual chair user should be okay. They do have some tables set into a bay that wouldn't suit chair users who cannot transfer, so be aware when booking.

Service was friendly & fast. Food was just okay, we both had a roast. Sadly pigs in blankets (7) & cauliflower cheese (small bowl full) were separate add ons, which I was surprised at. The portion was generous enough.

I heard they had run out of turkey just after us, but they cooked a chicken break for another table to replace it as she only ate white meat which is accommodating.

Unfortunately we couldn't use my support workers blue light discount card as she couldn't get into the app (terrible WiFi) despite her being able to log into her work app showing she was on shift with me.

Be aware the air conditioning was on full blast. Both of the tables in our bay commented as it was making the food cold. I'm unsure if they acted on our request as it never reduced but we didn't mention it again either.
