I ordered takeaway online and was given a waiting time of 50 minutes for delivery. After about 2 hours of not hearing anything I rung up to cancel as it was taking too long. I had to ring twice as the first time I got no answer and rung on for several minutes. The second time I rung I informed them that I ordered a takeaway and told them my address and his first response was "it has just left". I stated it has been far too long, and I no longer want it, and his first response was MY fault as I lived so far away and they don't normally deliver so far away (about 6.5 miles away) - if this is the case WHY was my order accepted when my address was supplied? Or why didn't they ring OR email me as I supplied these details with my order when this order was reviewed? And evidently they were willing to accept my order as my takeaway had (allegedly) left when I rung to enquire! It took them 2 hours to decide this? Also, it is clear that my living 6.5 miles away was not the issue, as it had "only just left" suggesting it had only just been cooked. I informed the person down the phone that the time now was too late, and I would not accept the takeaway so it would be wise to contact the delivery driver and save their time and not deliver to our address, especially if it's so far away from them.. His response? He told me I should do it when he arrived then hung up on me.
The delivery driver never arrived. Absolutely...
Read moreOverpriced and mediocre. Called in here whilst visiting friends in Salisbury and was looking forward to a good curry. Despite being busy they managed to seat us at a table at the back of the restaurant which was really dark owing to the poor lighting. I don't know about you, but one of the joys of Indian food is being able to see the amazing colours. I ordered two vegetable side dishes - 'Bengali Style Dhal' and 'Mutor Panir' along with a roti. What arrived was a real disappointment - the 'Panir' was at best average and the 'Dahl' was, to be totally honest, bland to the point of being tasteless. The dishes on the menu are £2-£3 higher than those in the North West, which I don't mind paying, but come on guys, up your game. Judging by the reviews, the good people of Salisbury seem enamored with you, but your dishes are full of the usual suspects and not exciting at that. I've had the good fortune to travel around India on several occasions and it's a delight to experience the food on offer - be it street food, café, or restaurant. The staff and service are great, it's just a shame the menu and décor is stuck in the 90s. Let's have something more...
Read moreHave had lots of positive interaction with the restaurant previously - the food is excellent - but really poor and disappointing service tonight. Made an order at 5.30, it had not arrived by 7. I rang to chase this and, after much fuss, was told it had been delivered to me. This was not the case - I have been at home all evening, and was told the food had been delivered to a 'gentleman with long grey hair', which certainly isn't me. The delivery driver had clearly delivered to the wrong house. When I asked for a refund, the attitude displayed was poor at best. They were unable to give me a timescale of when the refund would be processed and seemed, frankly, reluctant to do so. I will not be using their services again and suggest that they are more discerning when vetting their...
