The visit to Talpore started off okay, the waitress was friendly and didn't take too long to take our order. I enquired about the price of the festive cocktails because there was no price on the flyer and we didn't have a drinks menu, I was told by our waitress that she thought they were around £4; after getting the bill from the same waitress, I discovered they were actually £7 each. The meal came within a reasonable time and although it was nothing to write home about, it wasn't bad either. That's when things got worse, we waited for around 30 minutes after finishing our festive main course for someone to take our dessert order before I gave up and went to the bar where all the staff were hanging out. I ordered the Christmas pudding for myself and my brother. It took around half an hour to arrive and quite frankly wasn't worth waiting for, it was a tiny slice of pudding. Shortly after we had arrived, a couple of men in their early 20s arrived and sat at a table 2 metres to the right of us, one of them was facing us, this in itself would not be a problem but they were loud, frequently used foul language and at one point one of them pushed the other one over. I certainly would not class this as a child friendly restaurant after being subjected to 2 hours of that, plus as far as Covid is concerned, talking produces 10 times the viral load of breathing and the louder you talk, the worse it is. There was no shielding around the table with the loudest people in the restaurant. I think this was the worst service that I have experienced in a restaurant to date and I am not used to having to listen to foul language while dining, all in all, not a pleasant experience, so I didn't...
Read moreMaking a bad name for the Beefeater pub chain. We came here based on good reviews for our first Sunday lunch here. We had 2 beef dinners and 1 lamb dinner. The lamb dinner came with hardly any lamb and wasn't pink like asked for. The beef dinner had alot of fat on them but made up for their being three fairly big slices. All the parsnips and roasties were dry and hard as if put in a metal tray and sat under heaters for ages before serving. There was only root veg, no mash which wasn't stated on the menu but most places do both. Sprouts were not on the menu but came with the dinner. Two of us don't like sprouts so if we knew this then we wouldn't have asked for no sprouts. The couliflower cheese on the lamb dinner was cold where as the two beef dinners was mouth burningly hot. The gravy was watery so not sure if it was their red wine gravy. We were greatly disappointed with the meal! We usually have Sunday lunch at the Open Jar in Norton Village not far away and for an extra £1.50 on our meal we could have eaten there and be far more satisfied. There was a couple next to us who also had Sunday dinner and they too were disappointed. They got money knocked off their bill. We didn't after expressing our disappointments but we were just glad it wasn't just us that were disappointed. You don't know what it's going to be like until you go, but we've tried and now we know to just eat at our regular Sunday...

Tried to order boiled eggs they had an issue with the water/ gas and everything else in their kitchen- the first day we got an apology for not being able to order pretty much anything they had on the breakfast menu. The second day there was a different management, no one came to our table and apologised for anything. On the 3rd day the service wasn't so bad but they still had issues with their oven/water/gas so we got our refunds back. ( for 1 day staying) Also noisy (rude 4.50am) people from upstairs (customers who don't respect others sleep walking about with their high heels on) If you are reading this poor rate feedback and still want to book a room- make sure you are on the top floor not 1st floor.
Reception feedback- 5* ( shame i cant give 2 feedbacks) really nice people who made me feel welcome from the moment I walked into the premier Inn I always get a good service from the reception team!
I wish I didnt have to write this but unfortunately this isn't the first time I had bad service from the restaurant team "from different premier inns" One advice to those who work in premier inns- if you don't love what you do then find another job, just because you are having bad day it doesn't mean you can treat your customers the same way! 👌 I deal with the public too and I never treat my staff or...
