KFC Teesside - Park Drive — Restaurant in England

I have been a KFC lover since forever. I have had KFC from India, UAE, Qatar, Malaysia and UK! I live in Stockton on Tees, just so that we could eat halal KFC, we travel all the way to Thornaby KFC instead of having from Stockton. I went to KFC today night at around 10 pm with my wife and two of my friends. We were so excited in having our favorite food! We ordered 4 flaming wraps, Zinger burger meal, 6 hot wings meal and 2 original recipe chicken.

It was the worst KFC experience all 4 of us had. May be the only worst KFC experience. We saw that many burgers were already made and kept in the cabinet. We saw a team member taking it out of the cabinet and putting it out on the chute. Maybe because the burgers were made long before the lettuce literally tasted very stale. It was very smelly! And also the top portion of the burger bun was burnt!

We got out drinks, without straws and when we asked for straws they said that it was in the self service cabinet, when we went there it was empty, and when asked for it again, they said they were out of straws.

We asked for some ketchup and mayonnaise and they said they were out of ketchup. A KFC outlet out of ketchup, can you believe that!?

The most worst part was that the original recipe chicken we got was literally in black color. Believe me when I say, it was BLACK. Me and wife love the original recipe chicken the most out of the KFC menu. We were really disappointed and went to ask for replacement and I believe it was the manager itself (because she was wearing a different color shirt) said us that the chicken is supposed to be that way. It was BLACK and the crumbs almost as hard as rock. We said it's not supposed to be this way, we are not having KFC for the first time! She just kept telling that it's supposed to be this way and at last she said that it's because of the oil, the oil makes the chicken black!! And she said she could get us another pieces but it would be the same color too! We said we would go with replacement anyway, and as she said, we again got back black chicken! This time we observed the team member when he went inside to get them, all the chicken inside the oven was really dark! We were really very disappointed, then the team member said it's because of the oil, that they only change the oil once every week! Really? A fast food chain like KFC changes their oil just once a week? That's a shame.

That's really bad if that's true. Because reusing the oil for whole 7 days can generate lots of free radicals and cause lots of disease. It's carcinogenic.

Then the manager came and told us that she could give us fillets instead, and we said okay. The fillets were also dark but better than original recipe. But only in appearance! The taste was really bad, it tastes stale and the crumbs were really hard!

This is the first time me and friends are having such a horrible experience. Also their response towards us was very bad. Also they asked us to put away the burt/black chicken pieces into the bin when they went to take fillets for us. I personally don't feel that's the right way to deal with a customer, asking the customer itself to bin the item which they complained on! They didn't take our complaint seriously. I never put out negative reviews for anything, but if they are actually reusing the oil for a whole week, then I think that's something that somebody should look into. It's a health risk for anyone...

If I could award a zero star for this place I would after this afternoon's experience. It was a rainy miserable day so thought we would take the kids for a ride and visit KFC at Teeside park... When we arrived it wasn't overly busy with customers, plenty of seats available, so we ordered on the machine a meal each, and took a number sign to be served at the table. We sat for more than half an hour watching others who came after us being served their food, our 1 year old baby becoming very irritable and the 2 other children complaining, I am heavily pregnant and by now so uncomfortable, so much do that a lady who ordered after us and had finished her meal was annoyed by what she witnessed and she went up to the counter to complain on our behalf.. After this our food magically appeared. We we given some free popcorn chicken as an apology. Unfortunately most of the order was lukewarm at best and ate as much as I could but struggled, as did my daughter. The worst thing was my son and I ordered a hot chocolate each with our meals which were an additional 40p each . These hot chocolates were the most hideous excuse for a drink I ever tasted, they were simply boiling water with milk froth on top, we stirred them in case there was chocolate hiding at the bottom but no such luck, these were hot chocolate minus the chocolate, my partner took them back to the counter and asked for new ones, the cashier came back with 2 fresh hot chocolates, but again they were minus the chocolate, at this point I gave up, the whole experience was completely miserable, stressful, the service was the slowest ever, and the food and drink abysmal. It has in fact put me off using any fast food place again. I went up the other end of the retail park afterward to a Costa shop to get a real hot chocolate which was lovely and what it said in the tin. Shame on KFC for making a wet miserable afternoon even...

I almost always order a boneless banquet, and up until recently it was £7-8 ish. Today I ordered it from KFC Teesside Park for about £10 (with inflation and all that, it's pricy). First thing I noticed was EVERYTHING was smaller. So I paid more for less, shocking. The chip packet was tiny and half full, the drink was small, the popcorn chicken box looked tiny too, but most appalling was the size of the chicken fillets that came to me luke warm. They were literally so small I thought I'd been given a kids meal but it turns out the fillets that used to be in the boneless banquet have now been replaced with 'mini' fillets. I went back to the counter when I opened my meal and asked if there had been a mistake. This is NO banquet but felt like I'd been scammed. SAVE YOUR MONEY and spend it elsewhere as the price has skyrocketed and portion size shrunk. Not cool at all. AVOID I've attached photos from the poster and compared to my meal. They should describe it as a boneless kids meal as it feels like false...
