What a wonderful place, I really don’t want to call it a cafe because that would be an injustice to the staff and owner. Extremely inviting from the outward appearance, and very well appointed inside. On our visit it was quite busy, but this is due to its popularity and excellent service. The menu is straightforward and absolutely mouth watering. We will be returning at the next possible opportunity, highly recommend a visit, book if you don’t want to be disappointed.

First visit today for afternoon tea but won't be the last, nice little cafe with friendly staff, delicious food, lovely decor. Edit - from 25/3/19 No longer dog friendly, poor excuse of 'a few to do's' translates to our snooty oap clientele prefer not to eat with dogs around. Shame.

Superb, placed an order for a birthday cake, collected yesterday. Came in a great box (so it didn't get spoilt in transit. Wonderful soft and light 🍋 spoge. Perfection, thanks guys (very happy wife). As commented on collection..you made me look good.....

From the moment I stepped into the Yew Tree I knew it was going to be great, just from the decor, the friendly staff and that counter-top full of lush-looking cakes/biscuits. I was proved right! The staff are welcoming, fast and efficient. The food is delicious and very good value;good portion sizes too. Today I had the Halloumi, poached egg and smashed avocado on sourdough toast-yummy! My friends had the red pepper, cheese&onion quiche with salad for one and ham, egg and chips for the other. Both were very happy indeed. Last time I had the 2 eggs on toast with pesto and Parmesan and mushrooms- to die for. I've never seen such large slices of cake as when they serve the wonderful Victoria Sponge, and the Carrot Cake with cream cheese icing is delicious. I bought a takeaway box for a friend of the White Chocolate and Daim biscuit (shortbread, I think) and she adored it. I thoroughly recommend this café, set in the beautiful village of Scalby, as it's a real find. A very happy turquoise-haired (today!) customer, now a...

Walked quite a way to here after visiting the website to check food was being served. The website stated that food would be served until 3.30pm. We arrived as a large group at 3.15pm and were greeted by eye rolls and whispering girls behind the counter, presumably hoping for an early finish. We went to order our meals and were told that we could have tea and coffee only as they'd switched the ovens off. We only wanted toasted sandwiches but...
