This review is in relation to a previous review left earlier on today . Firstly let’s start with how I have been in many times to this establishment and although the staff are not overly friendly we have always returned and enjoyed some of the lovely cakes that are served. However today like usual me and my sister had taken our two young children to play at the park and then brought them in to the cafe for a drink and an ice lolly . Once purchasing our drinks, tea cake and ice cream we sat down at a table wich may I add was out of the way of other customers as being in hospitality for many years ourselves we understand that sometimes it can be a little noisy when sitting close to young children . When our children became unsettled we decided to put on paw patrol on our phone for them to sit down nicely and watch while we finished our drinks( as other parents will understand this is a god send especially when out for food or drinks to help keep the children occupied ) . Both mine and my sisters drink was to hot to drink to the point that it tasted like burnt milk as I previously stated we have both come from a hospitality orientated background and we understand that these things happen we decided not to complain but to simply try and drink it . We had both drank not even half of our drinks when our children were making animal noises as children do, and as the establishment is situated opposite a park and as the cafe promotes that it is a child friendly place for example having high chairs, an ice cream parlour outside , toys inside and also an ice cream freezer inside I can assure you that this place is not child friendly and perhaps this needs to be reassesed as to what age category the establishment is aiming to attract . I was absolutely mortified when the owner had come over to our table very rudely and abrupt and told us that if the children cannot be quiet then we need to leave! I was absolutely appalled at her hurrendous customer service skills . Our children were no louder than any normal child and did not get of their seats once. After the lady had come over and asked us to leave in what came across as an aggressive manor she swiftly dissapeared in to the kitchen foolishly leaving her employees to deal with her appalling attitude . Both me and my sister were devistated that we were spoken to like this and decided to leave our drinks and exit the cafe as we no longer wanted to be in the presence of arrogant staff and felt hugely unwelcome . Whilst my sister put her child in to the pram I approached a member of staff asking if the lady was the owner as I felt what she said was rude, unnessasary and highly unprofessional. An elderly couple that shortly arrived after us and sat on the table next to us called me over to their table where they pleasantly reassured me that they were absolutely fine with our children and also astonished how we had been treated . I am not trying to scare parents away from this establishment but I am however trying to inform people that this is not as child friendly as they portray . After looking at other reviews for this place I was not superised to find that we were not the only people that were treated like this and many reviews state there are rude members of staff . When focusing on the reply my sister had off of you I was also not surprised to find that the reply was quite simply a lie . You stated that you had lost 4 customers due to our children ... these customers had finished food and drinks and left because they were finished . You also state that we were politely asked to control our children . In fact there was nothing polite about the whole visit .Our children did not get out of their seats once ! Maybe they were a little to loud at one point but being young children this is expected . And just to clarify we did not finish our drinks and the reason we did not complain is because in both of our many years of hospitality we have been taught to give the best customer service possible and we simply understand that these things happen...

Apparently the owner isn’t bothered about this review. Nobody reads reviews anyway! So here is my review that nobody will read anyway…

We were at the park and had to get lunch. It was close by so we went in, we’re given a table and served quickly. Told about a wait on food which we were fine with and carried on. The waitress was distracted by an emergency on a nearby table and my son had ordered the ham, cheese and pineapple pizza off the main menu. The cheese and pineapple pizza (which we hadn’t ordered) came out for my son and we assumed ham was hiding under the cheese. It wasn’t. We asked the waitress why there was no ham on the pizza, she bought out a plate of ham!! On leaving, we mentioned to the staff that our child didn’t like the pizza, it wasn’t what we ordered and could we have our £8.95 refunded because 1) it wasn’t what we ordered and 2) it’s a cheese and pineapple pizza! The waitress who took our order said no refund as we hadn’t mentioned anything before, we actually did and that’s why we were delivered a plate of ham! She went to find out from owner and apparently because they’d sold 11 pizzas and had no complaints they wouldn’t give a refund or even a partial refund. I said it wasn’t a complaint about the pizza, it was about not getting what we ordered. Out comes the owner! She said the order was read back to us (it wasn’t due to ongoing emergency on another table) and it’s our fault. Well, it’s not our fault though is it! It was their mess up and we paid for cheese, pineapple and bread (it looked pretty RANK!) and we told them this and she got uptight that I was calling their food rank. Well, if it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck…

Tourist trap. Not looking after locals who keep them going through the cold wet winters. Absolutely diabolical, non existent customer service! The owner is what makes the business and even though the other staff did what they could and agreed with us not getting what we ordered and getting a refund, the owner said no and got aggressive! As soon as she came out the kitchen she was determined to argue instead of talking rationally about it which is shocking as an owner/manager!

Anyway, I won’t get a reply to this as “they don’t respond to negative reviews” and again, “nobody reads reviews anyway!”. What an amazing attitude to get by in business in a cost of living crisis. Puts me right off even spending money out on...

Visited today with two friends and our three babies, we each ordered a meal and 5 drinks, I asked for a jug of water to be told '"you have to pay for tap water, but if you buy bottled it's cheaper" I disputed this with the waitress, explaining it was a illegal not to provide free tap water if the premises sells alcohol, she said she'd go in and ask. Our drinks then came out with one small glass of water as that's all they would do for free. I went in to ask for two more glasses so we could have one each as we had ordered food, drinks & all three of us were breastfeeding our babies. I was told by the waitress that they don't offer free tap water, a rule bought in by the boss due to buisness rates & wages going up etc etc, & she showed me a google screenshot about tap water in cafes. I explained that as their a liscenced premises they legally have to provide tap water (listening act 2003). Not only is it completely wrong they are refusing free tap water you would think that a cafe used frequently by families would have a bit more consideration. Unfortunately the penny pinching owner lost £40+ today, the custom of 3 local people & I've posted into our mum group to avoid - very short sighted!! I will say I feel sorry for the staff who are having to enforce a rule that the owner has bought in that is not only illegal but completely unethical, there are plenty of other cafes I know I'd rather work in! We ended up in the county arms, welcoming staff, great lunch & water provided without even...

What a wonderful place to stop for a spot of lunch! This place is absolutely gorgeous - near a lovely duck pond and just across the road from a decent sized play area for little ones The food was delicious, and the staff took our dietary needs into account, and suggested appropriate alterations - they were also attentive and friendly the restaurant itself was clean and there was a decent amount of seating both inside and outside Well worth a visit!

Great little spot for a spot of lunch while taking our little girl for a walk and a bit of a swing. The menu is balanced and affordable, the food is well prepared, and the staff is super helpful and friendly. It's becoming a regular stop for our little family for good reason.
