Stopped off for a bite and drink while cycling along the Lanchester Valley Walk (shared access path).
Good quality cycle racks right by the entrance to cafe (thank you for not putting the racks out by the gate or out of sight round the back. I always carry a decent lock but with bikes often being several £000s of investment, you always want to be able to see them close by. )
Food good, prices fine. Service lovely. Toilet is free to all to use.
The only thing I hope for, is the owners of the site (I'm guessing it's a local farm diversifying with the fishing lakes, farm shop, tackle shop, and this cafe), find the funds to invest in hiding the working aspects of the site, and making the wider space as attractive as the cakes...
Read moreWhat a hidden gem. We came across this place while walking the dog . Small seating area inside and a nice terrace. Outdoor seating has canopies to keep off the rain. Dogs are welcome. There's a range of home made food, lovely hot n cold sandwiches. Cakes and scones. The afternoon tea looks fab, really must try it. The service is definately "with a smile". This is one of those places that is easy to visit, no need to dress up, just drop in as part of your dog walk. I'll certainly be back again...
