On the positive side, the service was quick and the pot of tea for two was enormous. We couldn't drink all the tea they provided. We had scones with our tea. The scones were okay, but I wondered if they were shop-bought then reheated. I'm not saying they were; they just tasted like a shop scone with a touch too much bicarb. There's also a shop selling all kinds of organic foods and toiletries.

Interesting shop let down by appalling rude staff. Made to feel completely unwanted by staff who were clearly to good to serve us. We were barked at rudely to use the hand sanitizer even though we had already just used it by a woman who was on the phone and herself wearing no mask. She then begrudgingly said we could come in with a roll of the eyes and a big sigh, questions we asked went unanswered and all we got from the shop was condescending looks, whole experience was horrible and unwelcoming, trying to support our local businesses but really sometimes the rudeness and snobbery in my native Northumberland is just...

What a gem of a store. My husband, who has dementia, and I took a trip to Rothbury and I couldn't resist poppyingo this fabulous little independent grocer's. We were made to feel so welcome by the lady on the till. I bought a few bits and will definitely come back. The shop is very clean, well stocked and interesting to walk around. Rothbury, you are very lucky to have such a lovely little shop. I wish we had something like this...
