Uno Momento — Restaurant in England

I honestly can't understand any positive reviews here. Went on a Friday night place was pretty quiet when we arrived but soon filled up with parmo hungry locals. Look it was cheap, we got two courses for £10.95 and that's fantastic, we got desserts and for some reason they were one pound less than advertised on the menu. Service was pretty unfriendly, not a smile from our waitress who seemed on the edge. First order was incorrect but that's fine they quickly noticed and whipped it away. They then returned with the correct order however my pasta was a chicken dish which I had not ordered but I couldn't be bothered at this point. Pasta overcooked and not seasoned. Pizza was really disappointing, palid undercooked and really bland. Starters which we ordered to arrive all at the same time were pretty bad. Bruschetta was absolutely criminal with hard melted bland cheese on top which no amount of balsamic smears could save. Potato skins were the most passable but the rest was a disaster. Dessert was equally uninspiring. Service was really below par, no one asked us how our meal was or attempted to engage in anyway, I smiled and said thank you, don't worry a number of times but got nothing back. Took a really long time to get the bill and then an equally long time to get the card machine to pay. Even at this point we weren't asked how our meal was. Basic stuff. This was supposed to be a celebration party, there were 20 of us of all different ages but no options on the menu for children’s portions for those who were children or older folks who can’t eat the massive portions provided..

We asked for half portions but they wouldn’t do it, big mistake. my mum is 90 and was left till last she thinks they forgot her! She could only manage a few mouthfuls in the time left to us before we needed to leave. Deeply disappointed that this establishment isn’t able to accommodate different appetites! I had a very bland tagliatelle. I persevered because it’s a waste to not eat as much as you can when it’s put before you but I would’ve preferred a half portion. One member of staff tried his best to make our experience a happy one, but two other members of staff didn’t seem to care whether we were there or not. I certainly won’t be going there again…I cannot recommend any of the other dishes although from what I could see that others had ordered, it also looked run of the mill and bland! Firstly I was spoken to completely rudely by the manager and another person who worked there, was called a liar when I said the food was cold and tried to twist my words around when I tried to complain, the food was cold and didn’t taste right at all, I felt really ill after eating and tried to ring and discuss the situation and was told that I didn’t have food poisoning when NOT ONCE did I say I had food poisoning as I know that it takes 24 hours to get food poisoning! All I said was I felt sick and was almost sick when I got home and the manager tried to twist my words and say that I was trying to imply I had food poisoning! Was told I wasn’t getting a refund and was spoken to extremely ignorantly and put the phone down on me! Would not go here again, not even because I wasn’t refunded but the fact I was called a lier and the food was absolutely horrible and tasted like it had been warmed up in the microwave!
