“Amazing Experience!” My wife and I had both never tried the cuisine before and after a very warm welcome from the lovely lady who served us, I explained I was a vegetarian and my wife was not. We asked for her recommended dishes from the refreshingly uncomplicated menu and we were rewarded with beautifully cooked and well presented delicious food. I wanted to know how best to eat the food so I was gratefully educated in how it was eaten traditionally. We were very accommodated and even helped entertain our baby who was restless so we could both eat our meal. I’m really glad we stumbled across Hiwot Cuisine as it was a real joy to discover and experience a different cuisine and learn a little of their culture too. I recommend you try Hiwot’s amazing traditional coffee! Top marks for customer service and making us feel so comfortable and welcome. Very reasonable prices and we both left very full and satisfied An experience like no other, we...
Read moreThis was quite a bizarre experience. I'd seen a lot of positive reviews and have enjoyed Eritraen food before so I'd been keen to try this place for a while.
My boss was in town so I took him here for a meal one evening. When we arrived the restaurant was in darkness, however, there was a staff member there who put the lights on and assured us they were open.
She asked if we wanted meat or veg and spicy or not spicy but there was no other menu/choices
The ambience in the restaurant was really lacking, it was completely silent there were no other customers, the power kept tripping out and family members kept coming up and down the stairs!

Read moreTried this restaurant after google search and great review as I’m in the area but wanted something different than chicken parmesan/burger and chips. Did not disappoint. We had two lamb dishes (as per recommendation) not a fan of lamb but the dish doesn’t stink of lamb if you know what I mean? Cooked to perfection with overflowing spices and aroma, like a home cooked meal of your nanna. Soup of the idea (no idea what) but also very savoury. We said not too spicy and the food still tasted delicious. Great new experience as well as you have to eat barehand and tried “bread” that goes with the dishes. Will definitely come back to try their...
