The food was average at best however was charged at a premium price, would’ve expected to pay more in the region of £8 for that quality of food. Matcha was £5 which is pretty extortionate considering it looked anaemic. I would’ve internalised the averageness of the cafe if I hadn’t of been accompanied by a poor service. The lady on the till really wasn’t interested in serving us. And they don’t cater at all for any allergies, even though she mentioned that they make the food themselves, which raises a cross contamination and hygiene concern. They also had several posters about allergens and asking/ discussing your dietary requirements, so that made it all a bit more confusing. Amazing find - Bistro in Barton Le Clay . The staff are so friendly and offer an exceptional service . My partner is Gluten Intolerant and she had the Shaksuka Bowl which she said was the best she had ever had , they also had lots of other Gluten Free items on the menu like Omlettes , Salads , Soup . I had the Chicken , Camembert and Spinach Quesadilla, it was delicious . The portion sizes are huge here ! To take home I had some of the Old School Sprinkle Sponge cake and it was so soft and tasted incredible. The lady’s who work there told me everything is made fresh and from scratch , you could really tell as it was such good quality . We will definitely be visiting...

The best bistro I have been to in Bedfordshire. The food is outstanding , the portions are huge I had the Eggs Benedict on waffle, my husband had the smoked sausage hot dog . Drinks are beautiful , i had a Butterfly Latte which was amazing . The staff are so friendly and I had a lovely chat with them . They really are great with the customers , you order the food at the till and they bring over to you . They also do takeaway , I will definitely be back . It was highly recommended to me by so many people in Barton Le Clay . Keep up the good work ladies at Vanilla and Pepper , I can see why you are so popular ....
