I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with our recent dining experience at your restaurant.
I want to start by saying that we don't normally complain or give feedback, but our meals were so poor that we felt compelled to express our disappointment. Despite the issues we encountered, I do want to acknowledge that the staff were courteous and attentive, particularly when we brought our concerns to their attention. They offered us a 10% discount on our bill, which was a kind gesture.
However, unfortunately, the discount was not enough to redeem our overall experience.
The food:-
The chutneys lacked depth and complexity in their flavour, instead tasting overwhelmingly of preservatives and additives, possibly cheap mass produced off the shelf products. The shredded onion was tasteless old and dry, questioning how fresh it was.
Unfortunately, the main meal served was a disappointment, lacking depth and complexity in its flavors. The sauce, in particular, was underwhelming, tasting more like a cheap, canned tomato sauce with some added spice
The allegedly BBQ meat in the Voujon Special Rogan Chicken and lamb served was a disappointment, lacking the desired char, flavor, and texture, the meat was more akin to boiled or steamed meat, dare I say microwaved?
As a result, I regret to say that we will not be returning to your restaurant in the future. We had high hopes for an enjoyable dining experience, but unfortunately, our expectations were not met.
I hope that you will take our feedback seriously and take steps to address the issues we encountered, but I believe that your restaurant has the potential to be a great dining...
Read moreFood reasonable - typical of provincial Indian restaurant. Immaculately clean but also rather dark inside. Waiting staff perfunctory and can be curt. Has someone we guessed to be a manager who is DEFINITELY NOT CHILD FRIENDLY, claimed other tables complained about our children and then issued us with a thinly veiled threat regarding them, PUTTING A COMPLETE DAMPENER ON WIFE'S BIRTHDAY OUTING. Thinks its much better and more important than it is - seems to have confused 'fine dining' with 'village curry house'. Atmosphere sterile at best - no joy d'vivre - is 'in, eat, pay, out'. Have been several times over the last few years and is not as good as it was even just a couple of years back. Got 2 stars as food reasonable and place is clean. However, not a pleasant experience, is unlikely will return.
Edit. Restaurant took SIX YEARS to reply to our review, and then claimed it was a fake. It isn't, we've never been back, we won't be going back, and the Village Spice in the centre of Buckby is much...
Read moreThis was a takeaway. I thought I'd experienced the worst Indian food in this country. How wrong was I. Tasteless, saturated in oil, no spice or flavour and cooked with absolutely no skill. Whoever cooked this should be ashamed. Most of it has just gone in the bin. The byriani was tasteless and its veg curry was just an oil slick. The Tarka daal was watery thin and had raw slices of garlic instead of slightly crisped fryed garlic on top. Their version of madras (chenai) was very oily, wasn't hot, and had very little flavour. The only saving grace was the chicken wasn't tough, but again for chicken tikka it had very little flavour. I cannot recommend this restaurant. Actually I wouldn't normally say this but I'll make an exception. Avoid like the plague unless you want to throw your money in the bin like I have. Hopefully I can save someone else this totally bad experience. Don't say you...
