The Pop Up Place restaurant is a good concept.
Open Thursday to Saturday 6pm until late, showcasing a variety of cuisines on different themed nights. It seems to be taco Thursday, jerk Fridays or random Saturdays, with the ability to book in advance off their facebook page.
Came here for June Plumâs on Friday and it was decent. The jerk meats werenât really cooked like they typically should be, but that might be due to limitations of the kitchen. They ran out of a lot of menu items on the night, so you might have to get in early.
The restaurant and atmosphere is quite simple, but itâs good enough and they try to keep it clean. Other guests can get quite loud and lairy which can be overbearing.
There owners/staff seem like nice people but are amateur on food service, forgetting to bring sauces, cutlery, napkins etc. They have a lot of people âworkingâ but they seem to banter between themselves so they arenât very attentive.
The cocktails are also really good - I think we spent more on drink than food đ They should do beers to match the night, instead of relying on basic lagers.
Definitely worth a try though and good...
Read moreI had an installation round the corner and due to other reasons my customer was not home yet. So to fill the time and to have a cheeky coffeeâŚwhen passing The Fork & Flower caught my eye when walking down the high street.
I opened the door and was amazed how far it went back and was welcomed by friendly and polite staff members who were so helpful.
My colleague and I ordered our drinks. Mine a Chai Latte with a bit of Ginger Bread Syrup and the other was a Decaf Vanilla Latte.
Oh man. The drinks were so nice and tasty. The right amount of froth and when they arrived you could tell they were made with care and attention.
Then came the cakes. The blueberry muffin and a slice of carrot cake. We took the advice to have the muffin warmed upâŚ. Oh man.
That changed the muffinâs taste and made it just pop in your mouth.
I feel that next time Iâm passing this needs to be my pit stop.
Thank you for being so welcoming, friendly and Monty my man you make a lovely Chai!! Loved it.
See you all soon. Yummy.

Read moreMyself and my partner had a really lovely visit to The Fort & Flower. The service was friendly and helpful. We ordered an iced chai latte and a banana milkshake â both were delicious. The Welsh rarebit was also great; it usually comes with bacon, however as a vegetarian, they were happy to swap it for alternative which was really appreciated. I had the shakshuka with halloumi, which was tasty â it would have been perfect if the tomato sauce was a little thicker. Their sourdough bread is honestly the best!
Itâs also good to know the cafĂŠ is dog friendly, which creates a nice, welcoming vibe. The only thing weâd suggest is having a lock on the toilet door â it seems like an easy fix and would allow people to feel more private and comfortable.
Overall, weâd definitely recommend and will...
