Can't fault the food at all,as lovely as any other wagamamas I have been to.
We had a couple of issues with our service from only receiving one main and missing a second and our starters. We were eventually asking we would like a ftee starter that was ordered by mistake from someone but turns out that was actually the starter We had ordered and it had been past around to different tables before coming to us. For our main when one arrived We waited a little bit as it's understandable for different meals to come out at different times but eventually asked someone what was going on. We had to ask 3 times because the waiting staff kept switching and whenever someone had said they would go and find out they never came back. When we eventually got our second main we found out that 3 mains had been added to our tab when it should have been two mains and one starter to share.
At the end of the meal we had to ask for the bill 3 times again because staff would switch out. (I think we saw about 4 different waiters during the entire time). Also, It's impossible to pay from the table because the WiFi at teesside park has always been horrific. (They do have WiFi available at the restaurant but again this is pretty ropey and resulted in failed payments)
As a whole it's a new restaurant opening up at Christmas time so some teething issues and stress is expected. If you can't appreciate and understand that without being a complicated customer then I recommend waiting until after the Christmas period to give them a chance to iron out the issues. Definitely think some better table management is needed to make sure things move smoothly in the future. Maybe spoons/ stand up right table numbers that can be seen by waiting staff instead of just writing tables on paper that get...
Read moreI had noodles dishes here before and normally they are nice, staff are very attentive and noodles dishes are usually fine and for that reason id go back again. However, today was very disappointing, i ordered make your own donburi: gochujang sauce wasnt gochujang at all and stick rice wasnt stick at all. If they are not going to serve for what it is then why they have it on the menu?? I dont know how they think that they can get away?? Surely many people thesedays have tried and know what sticky rice and gochujang sauce is like or Wagamama is not making it clear to people try it for the first time.. I think staff should be trained and know what they are serving or train to cook the rice properly. I had white rice that wasn't sticky at all nor it was cooked well either. I had the chicken katsu before and they had the same issues and I had to return it but got the exactly same uncooked rice back so I didnt finish it. Since then I tried rice dish again today. Surprisingly the rice wasn't cooked and non sticky. It might sounds like im obsessed with sticky rice but my point is wagamama didn't serve what I ordered that was on the menu. If you can't do it, then just serve rice without saying sticky or white that's it! Staff were great and asking if everything was ok and no point trying to ask them as they couldn't fix it and the last time they just told me thats what it is and thats what rice should be. before and today, nothings been improved. I eat rice almost everyday and I can tell the rice is not cooked properly and other wagama, I've been to serves cooked rice. Anyway i will stay well away from any rice dishes from it. Felt like wasted money and unpleasant experience. But they did good yaki udon/yaki soba etc stir fry noodles, id recommend...
Read more1st visit 2.30pm mid week. Aprox 20 diners. Plenty of staff. Very friendly with the exception of one female who stepped backwards as I was passing her being shown to a table and knocked into me she huffed at me as I turned to acknowledge the brush with my coat. Lovely bright restaurant and very tidy , staff on the go constantly and friendly mostly. Seated I was given a food menu followed by a drinks menu and told a server would come to take my order. Within minutes I was being helped understand the menu. I chose a starter of bang bang cauliflower and a glass noodle main dish..to drink I chose sweet cherry blossom green tea. I was told my dishes would not come at the same time. The tea arrived in a glass teapot filling to the top with tea leaves & blossoms but only half full with water. I poured around half the liquid tea into a delightful double walled beaker after waiting around 6 minutes but the taste was very bitter , so when a server passed me i asked if she could fill the teapot with hot water . I was told they are not allowed to , so I explained I could not drink it as it was so bitter and that whoever had put the hot water in had only put to the half way mark and that I would not be able to drink any of it. She relented but told me she would do it this once but I would not be able to to have it another time when I came back as it was not allowed . My noodle dish arrived it was well presented and very tasty, lovely flavours, I was down to the last fork full when my starter arrived . The food was delicious. £21.90 I left £30. 00 I used the ladies toilet very superior & clean . Leaving I was thanked and wished a pleasant night ... I will definetly come back again, but...
