Waitrose Cafe Willerby — Restaurant in England

We called in 9am on a Friday for the first time to try a breakfast. An electronic menu offered a small selection of breakfast items as well as drinks. We ordered Avo on toast and a cheesy croissant along with two coffees. The food items were the basic that I had ever been served. The coffee was OK. My Avo on toast was literally a fraction of an Avo spread in a dry slice of toasted bread. Nothing else on the plate. £5 for each portion of food. The croissant was of a similar style and price. I really enjoy the atmosphere here, it is so peaceful and comfy. What makes me upset is the lack of care when making drinks.

Twice in a row I have had an issue where they just don't pay attention. The last time I ordered a hazelnut cappuccino but they put no syrup in. This time I asked for the same and checked with them asking if it was a hazelnut cappuccino and not only had they not put any syrup in, but had done a latte instead. They either need retraining...

For Waitrose, and its reputation for quality, the cafe is underwhelming and disappointing. Some nice cakes, but very limited, hot snacks. Sometimes the soup comes hot, and sometimes cold. Most staff are friendly, apart from an elderly lady, "Nickie" who can be quite rude, to customers and staffalike. The service area is sometimes quite chaotic, and queues can soon build up, its not great at times. Expect better...
