Phoenix Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Epping Forest

Not a good first experience. Food was ok. We were booked for 4pm and was there on time I was very hungry and had my little ones with me. We got our starters served at 6pm, that’s when we were planning to leave. When we asked for take away they said ‘no it’s buffet only..’ they could’ve actually save more food for themselves by sending us with the take away! I don’t get the prison style approach!!? Our friends who had to leave at 7pm and didn’t get their mains on time were charged a full amount! Which was so unfair. I think they should make it clear, that they may run late for up to 3 hours and that only have one waiter for whole of a restaurant! Definitely, won’t be going there again! Which is a a shame as I live locally and could’ve been a regular...

Never sure what to expect from this place there are only a couple of Chinese restaurants in Waltham Abbey

Sometimes good but in December, We had ordered for delivery the food seemed rushed not very cooked & soggy sometimes always a wait of nearly 1 hour 30 mins on a Saturday

I think they are processing too many orders or do not have enough drivers so should stop taking orders!

It’s a shame as it’s the better choice in that area

Price is fair but the quaility could be better alongside cooking there food for longer nothing worse...

I've only ever heard bad things about the old Phoenix but never witnessed, so I have no bias now that it is under new management. The restaurant itself is well decorated, service is very prompt and seems to be popular to dine in. I've only had take away but was very happy with the food and would kindly sample again. I really would like them to do pineapple fritters as well, as they only did banana the last time I ordered. Overall I was impressed and would be happy to visit or order...
