The Faraday — Restaurant in Epsom and Ewell

Me and my family went here after being recommended and it was perfect.

The booking process I did through Google was simple and effective to get a table, but it wasn't needed as it wasn't completely rammed. I wanted a place to watch the football and we had a table ready and waiting for us. I will admit, the booking was under the wrong name but it wasn't a major mistake as they recognised it was still our booking so no issues there besides slight confusion.

There is a £10 deposit that I'm sure 99% of newcomers wouldn't know about when booking a table but all that gets put on your tab with the table you get at the place so I used it for my first cocktail, so just be prepared for that.

My cousin ordered food as well as drinks, this included the tacos and wings and they were absolutely delicious, the temperature and taste were brilliant, and made me wish we had ordered a full dinner there to try out the mains but we settled for sides with drinks when watching the football.

The drinks were flavourful and very decent in terms of portions so no complaints there either.

The atmosphere was nice with the football supporter ambience but that was somewhat overshadowed by the very loud music playing where we were sitting, it would have been nice to have the commentary in the background to add to the 'sports bar' type of vibe.

I mainly pop down here at weekends to watch the football, and on occasions, I will grab something to eat. My last meal there was a bacon and cheese burger, and to be honest, it wasn't all that. I found the patties themselves to be rather greasy, not great quality meat, and the chips rather oily also (maybe drain them off for a bit longer). The dish itself was edible, but for £11.50 I was expecting a bit more, and more than a few people have agreed with me in saying that their food is overpriced for the quality and quantity that you get. So for food I'd it give 3 stars. The pub itself, though, has a lively atmosphere, and the staff are friendly and attentive. I've been enjoying the Wednesday chicken wings offers for a few years now and I have always enjoyed the place and never had problems. But a few weeks back we started to have some issues. There was a sign saying that that night they were short on chickens' wings but we managed to order a first-round as always. One hour later we asked for a second round but told us they ran out and so decided to grab something else instead. After that, some other people sat next to our table and ordered chicken wings. When asked for an explanation from a waiter, he said they ordered before us... Fair enough, it wasn't meant to be we thought.

But this Wednesday, as I booked 2 weeks in advance for 10 people, I'd expected to find a table in a better location than we were sitting. Also, I found it unacceptable to ask for chairs too, like we just walked in without a reservation and told us to sit on the only table left.

For those who are reading this and work there, we were the group of people that ordered 200 chicken wings. I'm not coming back...
