Unfortunately not a great experience (we were told we could not get the duo roast but could order separately🤔🤔🤔 when asked what was in the gravy the waiter said "i dont know" we asked could you find out? He said ...ok...🙄 came back and said its vegan! Yhen walked away. Staff did not look presentable and clothing was scruffy, none of them had aprons which meant they were wiping their hands on their black uniform which was visible... food was ok but the vegetables were just plain boiled(no seasoning at all) plus the veg were clearly not fresh and more like a Tesco own brand of mix veg (disapointing). The standard of cleanliness was poor and what puts me off going back was the fact that in the mens toilets the hand drier was broken and it was badly isolated- signage was just a bit of yellow tape and exposed wires were visible...⚡️⚡️⚡️to make matters worse (management or someome knew this was the case but no hand paper towels were provided) so if you went to toilet 🚻 you either would not wash your hands 🙌or you did and could not dry them properly or only alternative was using toilet paper 🧻. There is potential for this place but it needs a bit of care from management and staff training needed!

Our first visit (and probably our last), we only went here because Toby carvery was fully booked. Very disappointing food (Plated roast), poor quality, and not much of it, items missing from what was listed on the menu, stuffing balls wrapped in bacon were burnt black. It clearly stated "half" roast chicken and gammon on the menu, but we were presented with an extremely tiny chicken leg and 2 x slices (small) of gammon, all served with a small selection of veg. I've seen bigger children's meals!, when we questioned the portions, we were told its a printing error and it should be a chicken portion, not half?? However I insisted that what was on the printed menu is what I ordered and that is what I expected and paid for!, reluctantly we were given another piece of chicken each. I felt sorry for the young sever who had to keep relaying our concerns to the female manager, who incidentally failed to attend our table at any point. And just to add we were extremely calm and courteous to the staff so we just expected the same in return.

Lovely clean place, staff are friendly. Had a little issue with drinks and food. Felt the food was eather re heated or kept under the heat lamp to long. The mash came out looking a little crusty on top. My drink did not come out as asked. Gordon's pink spritz served with strawberries. The drink came out with a lemon ? When i pointed out it was not correct I was told they have no strawberries. Still not happy with paying £4.99 for something I did not ask for I was offered rasberrys. Not wanting to make any one feel uncomfortable i had the raspberry's. I have to say the place had a very warm feel and the staff are very friendly and clean.

Disappointing is an understatement! We came as a family of 8 for the festive menu- this was our only opportunity to have Xmas dinner together and I am so disappointed. The table was set up lovely but the food was awful. Two of us had the prawn cocktail- on the website it is served beautifully in a bowl. In reality it was a bit of lettuce on a plate with the prawns and sauce on top with a pack of lurpak and a slice of bread on the side. I wish I had taken a photo. The others had chicken wings which were fine or breaded mushrooms that I’m guessing were frozen as they were very watery. Apart from the children we all had the festive turkey. There was nothing festive about it! Some food was hot some cold hardly any veg and any that was there was cold/hard and quite unpleasant. The potatoes were awful. The puddings were passable. We had all been looking forward to this meal and it was just a total let down

Atmosphere 1 Response from the owner 39 minutes ago Hi Michelle,

I apologize you felt your experience was so bad, although I have to say I am shocked. Your party was checked upon several times by our assistant manager and each time she was told how lovely everything was. Also a member of your party left the team a generous tip and said they would leave a good review. If this wasn't the case that the food was lovely we wish you had actually said when asked so we could of tried to rectify this at the time rather than leaving disappointed with no way of us making it right.

The image used online by the company of the prawn cocktail is the Christmas day serve not the festive menu spec - so what you were served was made correctly according to the specs our chefs use - again had you told us we could have explained this at the time or changed the dish for you. I am not sure what we could of done to make your turkey more festive? This was served exactly as the menu stated,

We never like to hear of our guests feeling their meal was anything less than fantastic - so we were saddened by this review .

Have a lovely christmas,

Amy general manager

I have had to edit this as there is no way to reply.

When you say we were checked on several times and each time the waitress was told everything was lovely- this is simply not true. We said it was fine- what was the point in saying anything? If you could have rectified it why was the food just not cooked nicer in the first place?? When you say the prawn cocktail is made according to specs I would suggest your chefs look up how to make a decent prawn cocktail! When I said the festive turkey I was talking about the meal as a whole not just the turkey. The meal as a whole was not at all festive! Regarding the member of our party that left a rather generous tip It was £9 and maybe he should have been clearer. The tip was left for the service not the meal and he has never complained about food and wouldn’t. He has also never left a review and wouldn’t. Perhaps it would have been better if you had just apologised and...

Visited today (7th November ‘24)

Upon entering The Queen Adelaide, it was quiet and calm (around 12:42) with few patrons scattered the around other side of the pub and wasn’t busy. 2 members of staff around, but not always visible.

I was with my partner and 2 friends as we was celebrating a joint birthday. We had been chatting and looking through the menu for about 30mins before deciding on placing any orders. My friends ordered via the app on their phone and was able to process their food with ease. My app on my phone was being slow and therefore I had to go to the bar to place my order for myself and my partner minutes after my friends had ordered. The ordering was simple enough, however there was a few problems.

My friends had received their starter (crispy chicken bites) within minutes of me finishing my order at the bar and then had the bowl taken away sharpish. They had then to wait 30-40 minutes for their main meals to arrive (steak sandwich which was more like half a sandwich) and they had not alot on their plates but I assumed this is what was included in the price. I had to wait a further 5 or so minutes for my starter to arrive (beer battered mushrooms with a garlic mayo sauce). This starter was super yummy and hot to bite into, I am a sucker for garlic and mushrooms!

However, it was disappointing to wait near on a hour for mine and my partners food to arrive to the table and this was cutting it close to the wire as we all had to leave to collect our children from school. My food turned up and I was looking forward to eating, however to my dismay my chicken (Hunter’s Chicken Schnitzel) was so crispy/ crunchy that I could not eat much of it (I did manage to eat the middle that had softened up from the BBQ sauce that was on top with the bacon and cheese). I also had noticed that there was a short dark hair on the cucumber part of the salad and that put me on edge for eating the rest of the food so I only ate the chicken and the chips. I did report this to the lady at the bar. For my partner, I had ordered him a single burger (Cheese and Bacon burger) and had requested that the lettuce and tomato be taken out as these he does not like. When receiving the burger, he had lettuce and tomato in the burger but there was no member of staff to ask for, so instead of waiting he just took the two items out which was no problem really.

I did report the presence of hair to a member of staff, when she had appeared back behind the bar. She was quick to process a refund for myself, as I did also point out that the food was way over cooked for the chicken. She did apologise for this. The 2nd member of staff was not to be seen anywhere and we was not told of any cooking problems when waiting for our food to be delivered.

Overall, I would recommend The Queen Adelaide pub for a nice drinking atmosphere as I had been once before for drinks with a friend however, the food service could be better improved seeing as we had gone in the middle of the day to eat. I would not like to see/ wait for food during the busier...
