Home from Home Cafe and Deli — Restaurant in Erewash

I unfortunately can’t rate the atmosphere as I didn’t not go here in person, I had my food delivered. I have put 5 stars on service is because my food was delivered on time and I spoke to a lady on the phone who seemed very friendly.

On to the food - I can say I was sadly quite underwhelmed. I have heard lots of lovely things about this place, but I don’t feel like it lived up to reputation on this occasion. I ordered a brisket roll which was ok, it would have been better if there were more meat but it was mostly gravy. It’s also pictured on Just Eat as it comes in a baguette, but it comes on a soft roll and which was made very soggy from the gravy. The cobs are very soft though which is a positive. Nice and fresh.

My partner ordered the quiche meal which unfortunately was very unpleasant. The quiche had been heated which is fine, but it was very overdone so the texture pastry was hard not nice at all. The taste and smell was even worse. Some of the salad was not fresh and the chips looked fine on the outside but was underdone in the middle.

My son enjoyed his bacon and hash brown cob - again the bread was lovely and soft. The bacon seemed nice quality too! I will say though I paid for a large cob and probably would have expected a little more than 2 bacon and 1 hash brown for £4.70? Other than that, no complaints there.

My daughter enjoyed her sausage and beans but the chips that came with it were undercooked in the middle. The sausage was good quality though and was much better than what I was expecting on a typical kids meal.

We also ordered a jacket potato with cheese and beans. Bits of the potato were a little hard on the inside. It says on Just Eat that the potatoes are done in a potato oven, so I was expecting a nice crisp exterior but unfortunately it wasn’t it but I do appreciate the packaging may have caused that issue and it may have been inevitable.

We did receive a free cornflake tart with our meal too which was kind and it wasn’t too bad - but it definitely...

I went 2 this shop b4 it was taken over and the food was spot on but now the only problem is the sausages there cheap and nasty where they taste like they have bought 500 for 10p I wouldn't mind paying a bit more 4 good sausages or have an option 4 lincolnshire sausages instead of cheap and nasty other then that it's a nice shop staff are nice ill give them a try in a few months see if they have upgraded the sausages if they haven't ill not give them another go id happily pay an extra...

Appalled with this cafe. Don't ever leave a dissapointed review or ask for a refund as the treatment you get after that is horrid! The final straw is having orders cancelled on just eat after waiting over an hour and having estimated time. thinking it was coming. They disscust me! I couldn't put zero stars.i don't know why I placed an order actually because it's alot of money for...
