The Observatory - JD Wetherspoon — Restaurant in Erewash

The observatory is a fairly standard spoons, it's got all the hallmarks of being nice outside, pretty plants and glass frontage, but inside it's a spoons and it's full of people who you probably don't want eating opposite you. From the 09am drinkers to the Friday night Whitney's dressed as Britneys it's got it all. The roof terrace would be nicer if it wasn't just a glorified smoking area for patrons and staff. Also if you sit upstairs you better enjoy sharing your table with the last people's dishes because you're gonna at least until your food is brought to you. Let's hope there were no toddlers eh? Overall the food is snip n pin but totally acceptable and edible as any spoons. I like a chicken burger myself. Avoid if you want a quiet meal, I'm not sure where in ilkeston this can be achieved but...

Very disappointed today been coming here for years today me my Mrs and little boy come for some food food got here fine was really nice but how rude the staff are is ridiculous the guy who took our order "connor" missed the gravy on our little boys meal no fault of our own to the girl who brought the food was very rude when we asked where it's was so asked her to get manager as here attitude stinks manager come over and said it isn't on the ticket to which we said "connor took the order so ask him" to the manager saying no and we will have to pay a huge...... 30p for gravy all that fuss over 30p if they would of told us in the first place we would of just gone ordered more think weatherspoons need to re train there staff. Also while all this was going off my little boys...

Awful service. The lady who served us spoke over us to another member of staff repeatedly at the bar.

We had a couple of drinks that had been bought at costa but weren’t being drunk as we had ordered food and drink there. They were just on the table until we left

She bought our food out saw the drinks and said nothing only to then come back after we had started eating to tell us we needed to throw them in the bin.

Why was this not said straight away?? Because if it had been I would have asked for a refund and left.

My husband had to leave and stand outside and wait for us!! Ridiculous, you won’t be seeing us there again and we will not recommend to anyone

The member of staff looked like management which is unfortunate as her whole...
