Staff are amazing....... unfortunately that's where the best part of this review ends .... so ur was my mother In laws 73rd birthday and my father in laws 55th birthday so as I don't live here we were recommended this place unfortunately the people had only ever been during the week ... so starters on a Sunday... Breaded mushrooms.... wow you could of put holes in the floor if you'd dropped them ...... !!! Wow Chicken goujons .... same literally over fried no taste .... Prawn cocktail .... safe bet .cant mess up defrosting and pouring sauce so that was OK....

Mains .... 3 x roast beef..... sliced beef amazing... unfortunately thats where it ends .... Watery mash ( could swear it was smash they said not so must of been VERY watery ) veg was ok .. Cauliflower cheese 😳 just packet sauce poured over awful... yorkie burnt ... ..... 1 x roast.chicken... erm (packed into handbag for dog )

Desserts were great 👍

Now when staff asked if food was OK they looked embarrassed and kind of were well yeah ok as if they knew ....

I have to say Amber was amazing apologetic helpful ...

Anyway when the bill came I argued the fact I'd already told them I was going to complain... Well after a discussion they removed the god awful starters off the bill ....

And was advised that it was a trainee chef 👨‍🍳 erm ok anyway so maybe if your looking for bog standard deep fried rubbish.... ok but if your actually looking for a decent Sunday lunch with home made food.... try somewhere else .....

Where do I start!!!!!

We were recommended coming here by friends on our way to East Midlands Airport about 3 weeks ago (I’d do a detour to avoid coming back) From the outside it looks a great pub nice big beer garden, wasn’t overly busy so we went in had to wait at the bar for about 10 minutes before staff who were too busy chatting to each other at the other end of the bar to notice us so we walked into the restaurant again it wasn’t overly busy 3 tables at the most. A staff member came over and I asked did I need to book and was told no but not by her but a young blonde girl who was sat eating an ice lolly!!! She turned out to be staff but was dressed more like she was going to the gym in cycling shorts and a vest top (very professional) We sat down was asked did we want drinks which were served promptly, taking our food order however took far longer maybe if staff spent less time chatting, people would leave happier!! Our food came out served by Miss Gym who was chatting on her phone so had it under her chin on her shoulder WOW JUST WOW RUDE DOESN’T COME INTO IT, our food was just plonked down. The food was really really good piping hot, excellent portion sizes and extremely tasty so a big high five to whoever the chef is, because that person actually makes the visit worthwhile. The rest of the staff seem bored and disinterested in customers and certainly act as though they don’t want to be there, if that’s the case maybe find a job you actually like and that makes you smile more...

Had a family get together the other evening and I must say we where all left quite disappointed, we experienced Average bland tasting food since the old chef left during the lockdown eat out to help out scheme, the service is good with helpful staff, but the ambiance is awful, full of local track suit wearing Nike air max man bag sporting yobs, football channel on every TV in the building even tho no games where actually on, crammed in like sardines to the point another group of ladies having a get together had to move away from the family tables when the old boys that just sit there looking at everyone eventually moved, this was due to lack of space and all where practicality sat on top of each other, we where put on stools so high that you are physically leaning down onto the table to eat the food causing discomfort for all, This was a pre booked event and it seems that they where struggling for unknown reasons, if you can’t accommodate by giving proper dining chairs and tables, simply state you are fully booked rather than doing half a job that lead to a unpleasant experience for all family members involved. As the knock on effect is they’ve now lost future customers, also the car park is dark and the lines aren’t clear meaning cars are parked incorrectly causing issues for others, outside seating is plentiful with a nice garden and...
