Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Fareham

I eat and drink all over the world and and worked in the catering industries, silver service etc so know what customer service is. and never have I received such shocking customer service and from the store manager no less. some one who would be much more suited to a greasy spoon looking very unkempt and obviously on the drugs.

so after walking in on what was clearly a customer issue wich would and should of taken no more than one member of staff. I was stood for a while watching the other two members of staff leaning over the counter.

when I asked of this was going to take much longer.

the reply I had from the customer was "thats a bit lairy" to which I replied not really, i dont understand how it takes all three members of staff to sort this out.

the duty/store manager said if I dont like it I can go some where else.

shocking service by someone who would best fit a burger van setting not Costa stubbington.

Went in to claim my free birthday cake to share with my son, as well as ordering 3 drinks and cake for my wife and mum.

There was a note on the till explaining the Costa club reward scanner was down so I couldn't claim beans and should keep my receipt.

Update May 24 - Staff now very friendly and efficient, location of store is good. Marked down a star for price.

I politely asked if I was still able to claim the cake as it was my birthday and the girl serving me rolled her eyes and flat out said 'no'. Not, "im really sorry but our machine isn't working" or even a happy birthday... I cancelled the cakes out of irritation and she sighed. Bought the 3 drinks to stop my 5yo son from being upset and then she didn't give me the receipt so I could claim my reward points back.

Went in for a free cake I couldn't get, spent a tenner on 3 drinks I didn't even originally want and the customer service was awful.

I used to be a regular in this shop, used to love the atmosphere last year with the old team. New staff member with white hair and name badge Cheryl, I believe she’s the new manager, does not know at all or take any care in making anyone’s drinks or food (being corrected multiple times by multiple members of staff i’ve not seen before, burnt toasted sandwich, obviously not done much training), very rude, shouting at other younger members of staff for unclear reasons, not at all professional and unfortunately will not be returning anymore due to these issues. This is no longer a nice place to go with my partner. This coffee shop needs a whole interior redo, toilet roll holder mouldy, lights constantly flickering, chipped mug.
