Had heard good things about the food and experience here , we booked for our wedding anniversary and arrived to find we were seated in the very corner, around in a partition area near the bar. Thus meant we couldn't see anything of the surroundings. At first I thought this may be OK as it would keep give us a little privacy but I didn't matter as the place was nearly empty and most if the tables were empty. Shame we weren't offered seating in the main area with a view. We ordered steak only to be told there was only 1 left. It is supposed to be a meat feast house where they smoke and prepare all their own meats. So we ordered the meat platter for two. First, the peri peri chicken wings came out. Meaty but extremely hot in temperature and extremely spicy in a wet sauce. Didn't enjoy trying to eat them and made a real mess. Not exactly a starter for a couple on a special night. Next up the sharring meat platter. The beef brisket was so chewy that i only managed one mouthful. The pork ribs were more fat than ribs and again... more chicken. Nice chips and onion rings though.. the small portion of salad was presented with a coleslaw mixed in and I'm not a fan to be honest. We left a fair percentage of it and we were asked if we wanted to take it home. We declined as it wasn't going to be eaten. It wasn't great then let alone the next day. You may ask if we complained and no we did not. We didn't want to make a scene on our anniversary. We were asked if the meal was OK and I didn't acknowledge. I was annoyed our evening was not going to plan. My wife ordered a Peroni lager and was served another cider because that's what she ordered the first time. Somebody really wasn't paying attention. Others have said its a very good restaurant, so I can only presume they went on a different evening and perhaps were lucky enough to have had the steak. Would I...

Very disappointing dining experience.

For four people and 6 drinks it cost £140 which we found very pricey.

The waitress was lovely but I felt sorry for her as she seemed scared to ask the chef to make changes to our burgers. She asked the chef if we could remove the brie and bacon from the burger as my sister can't eat these and was told that he would remove the cheese but my sister would have to take the bacon off herself. As for my burger, I was told I can either take everything off or have it all on, nothing in between which seemed ridiculous when I wanted to remove one thing. In a world where so many people have various special dietary requirements this just does not hit the mark.

Finally the food was bland and the BBQ sauce offered was obviously Heinz or a cheap wholesale store's equivalent and in a place called 'BBQ and Brews' I'd really expect a homemade BBQ sauce or at least something with a bit more taste to it, especially at the pricepoint mentioned above.

I really wanted to love this place as I am a big believer in supporting local businesses and I love BBQ food but it's just not acceptable that you are made to feel like an inconvenience if you make an adjustment to a burger. I don't like to feel like I'm inconveniencing someone when I eat, especially when I am paying what is quite a hefty price for pub food so I...

From home to home feeling ! From the moment we walked through the door it has been nothing but smiles laughs and great atmosphere. This has been our first time here and we MOST DEFINITELY will be coming back soon !!! I can only assume we have been served by the owners who have been fantastic so friendly so down to earth ! Smiles and laughter throughout I can’t explain how welcome we have felt here ! And oh my god the food !!!!! The food was absolutely amazing big thank you to the chefs ! You are out of this world we ordered the share platter we are stuffed the meat was melting in your mouth the coleslaw was wow ! The food was so good you didn’t even need to season it with salt or pepper or use any sauces !!!! We even received complimentary drinks because the kitchen was running slightly behind but we did not mind because the beer was good atmosphere was amazing we was really having a good time ! Not forgetting the vip guest of this pub little Yorkshire terrier who really stole my heart ♥️ Thank you Letter B see you very soon Angelika...

We've been wanting to visit for a while so took the opportunity one afternoon. Great sounding menu that just made it difficult to choose but includes dishes like burgers, smoked beef brisket and ribs. I have to say we were both blown away by the quality and taste of the food. It's up there with some of the best places I've eaten. The beef was falling apart without being dry and the mash so buttery... It's open for food every day between 12pm and 9pm and has a bar area plus a lovely restaurant that looks new. Can't wait to visit again for when shared meat platter!
