I'm amending the initial comment to say that the field has become a joke...lots of money spent on a wild meadow that was planted with wrong type of plants, then they sprayed it with weedkiller, then dug it up....it's a mess ...and until very recently was an out of control patch of thistles that the council claimed couldn't be cut due to wildlife.. wildlife????? They then claimed the plants didn't grow because the seeds didn't germinate because of the wet weather..... wet weather ....what wet weather....it appears to be a constant string of excuses for poor management and poor spending control....the big excuse from council was, 'its been done by a guy that has worked for me for years'.....'hes an expert'..... I'll let you draw your own conclusions on those points....on the whole, the remainder of the park is okay.....a few holes that they put goalposts in need (STILL) to be covered or filled in or someone will break an ankle at some point. The five a side pitch and fencing has been destroyed by the local yob brigade and in places is dangerous with sharp wires sticking out at pet eye level and this has now been taken down. Generally, it needs looking after and tidying up and perhaps someone at the council to stop talking BS and taking responsibility for it and spending a little, but, spending properly, not just throwing money at a contractor who it appears, has no bloody clue even to the point of using a weedkiller known to be harmful to bees and animals - kind of goes totally against the wild...

The main field is still water logged.. it's been like it for months, appears to come out of a drain cover near to the river bank side. It stinks.... what makes it worse around the whole site is where the saturday runners have churned up the grass even along the rivers edge bank so you ca t walk anywhere without getting caked in mud, surely it would be better to not have runners in the wet season or find a more suitable...

Third time I've stayed on the mooring here. Today was the first time there wasn't loud noise coming from the sports area until late into the evening and no groups of people drinking, shouting, etc (also until late) where the benches are. Otherwise quite a nice spot with good access...

The place have been improved thanks to the Council and Whittlesey Street Pride. They put new tables and chairs in with CCTV operating. The play area has been upgraded. Makes a big difference.
