Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Fenland District

Horrible experience and really rude. I asked if I could bring my dog in whilst I grabbed a drink (I always do to be polite), I was told that’s fine, (note, I’ve taken my dog in many other coffee shops without issue and other Costa Coffees; she is small, quiet and well behaved) I was then approached by another member of staff who told me I couldn’t have my dog with me, she then (loudly) went on to explain how her children would go into anaphylaxis (very rare for a dog allergy, and without contact to the dog) and need to be hospitalised in the presence of a dog and that she’d be fired! She made a scene, it was undeniably embarrassing and frankly very over the top, ridiculous, patronising and unnecessary, she clearly wanted to put me in my place assuming I’m of lesser intellect- height of rudeness. Train your staff better Costa, also take a leaf out the book of other very open minded coffee chains (Starbucks) and other smaller, progressive, private coffee houses who are lovely, frankly better quality and welcoming. There is no excuse for rudeness or over the top behaviour and the frankly insulting patronising tone of your employee. I only went to this Costa through lack of options, I’ll never go to...

I never write these things, but this was a really unpleasant and upsetting experience - very rude service. When we attempted to make a complaint because of the way we were treated, we were dealt with in an unprofessional and extremely rude manner. We were refused the name of the person who had been overtly rude about us - we were openly mocked. We asked and only their first name was given. When we asked for this person's full name we were told 'just **', (I'm sure most people have surnames). The store manager was defensive and rude and then laughed when we questioned her about her attitude towards us and, when we said we would take matters further, they said, laughing as they did, 'please, do!' - very confrontational, argumentative and condescending. This is not acceptable behaviour towards a customer and we will not be visiting this branch of Costa again - such a shame people felt the need to be so unpleasant - only...

Excellent service, I do find Costa very consistent, all the staff are friendly and helpful, I didn't wait long to be served, my food was hot and cooked through, I had a Barbecue Chicken Wrap, which was lovely, my Cappuccino was just as I like it, and my Sicilian Lemon Muffin was delightfully light, not too sweet and very fluffy, all in all a great experience, very glad I stopped by today, the toilet was also very clean and smelled nice, will definitely call here again
