Really bad experience. We would never go back. The guy that took our order was pleasant and seemed efficient. We went in for coffee but seeing the menu, decided to eat as it looked really interesting. I ordered scrambled egg with spinach, Parmesan and chilli. I specifically asked what bread they had. I asked for granary. My wife had scrambled egg with spring onion and smoked salmon and specifically asked for wheaten bread. It arrived in 10 minutes and looked Ok, other than.. who has half a bag of Doritos on the plate with scrambled eggs on toast? It soon became apparent that we’d both got the right eggs, with each others bread selection. I went to the counter to tell the waitress. She came over and took them away. I said, “if you just want to switch them around, that’s fine. I’d have done it myself here but it’d be too messy”. We then waited 15 minutes for the meals to come back. Now to be fair, they’d been done again from scratch, correctly. Unfortunately, it was really nasty! Mine was OK, just very bland. If there was chilli in it, news to me! Under seasoned too. But, it was my wife’s salmon that was the killer. As you can see from the picture, that’s not like any smoked salmon I’ve ever had before! It was all smashed and nasty looking. My wife said it was like cat food spread on the toast! I didn’t want the Doritos but my wife tried them because she couldn’t eat her salmon. She immediately said “these are soggy”. We left most of our meals. I went up to pay and was told “we don’t take cards”. I looked a bit surprised and the woman said (obviously had this lots of times) “there are signs up everywhere telling you that”. I looked and couldn’t see any. Then I clocked it. A sign next to the till where you go to pay. I had no English money on me. She directed me to the cash machine over the road. I went and got money. On my way back in, I looked for the “we don’t take cards” signs. There were none. Not in the window, not on the door and not on the tables. one sign, by the till, that you’d see as you tried to pay. All in all a...

We had a unique breakfast experience today at Nineteen, looking for a traditional type of fry we opted for their Pan Fried Breakfast and omelette. It reminds you of something you would be served on holiday in Spain in a local, traditional eatery. Would have been a 5 star but the sausage roll was really dry. Staff were...
