This is one of the best local places to eat, although I’m not sure that I want to give away this gem. As a kid, this was one of those places that your parents went to but you never got to go to as well. I’m not that it isn’t good for kids. It is it was just a place they didn’t take us. Now as a mostly fully grown adult my mum brings me here for dinner or sometimes lunch and it is, one of our favourite places to eat. The family that run this restaurant are just the best, they’re really friendly bunch who are always happy to have a chat but not overdo it. The food is all home-made with fresh ingredients quite often a better quality than you or I could find in any shop. Every single dish I have tried here has been absolutely incredible and the portion sizes always seem to work out just right so that you’re full but not over full. Quite often the owners will offer dishes that are not included on the normal menu and I promise you they are worth trying out, I am yet to try something that I haven’t liked. Its location just outside of great stone also means it can sometimes avoid the swarm of tourists. Into the holiday season, It certainly worth booking so you’re not disappointed and if you’re looking for large sharing platter, make sure you book these in advance. The atmosphere here is always really great and makes for the perfect place to have a nice meal with friends or family. The restaurant itself has a really nice homely vibe and coupled with the wonderful staff I just makes for a welcoming and wholesome experience. If you’re nearby and don’t try this place out,...

Phoned up on the day (it was off season on a Sunday, so assumed it wouldn’t be packed) and they were only too happy to have us ‘come along whenever!’ Already sounds like the classic Mediterranean hospitality.. The place itself is quite an old-school family restaurant, a little tired round the edges, but well-loved and the decor is a suitably simplistic recreation of a typical taverna (as much as you can hope on the Kent coast). But like with all my favourite Greek/Cypriot experiences, it tends to be the more basic and out the way, the better the food and hospitality; simple big-flavour meals without any pretentiousness, and a whole heap of diamond family friendliness :) Not too much on the menu to choose from - but why would you need there to be as long as the flavours are right. I’d say the only downside is that it reminds you there are still lovely little family places like this that exist; and that there a fewer and fewer of them still doing what these guys do so brilliantly. Long may...
