This wasn't my first time visiting this establishment and every time I had been beforehand it had always been a mixed bag of reactions. However this time I could not fault the service I had received. Our waitress was polite and friendly and despite on the one occasion where we had to goto the maitre D (who was also very excellent and handled an awkward situation created by another member of the public towards myself) I could not fault the experience they had created for my birthday. Food was fairly swift to our table however the portion sizes were somewhat smaller than anticipated. I requested the mixed grill with my steak to be medium rare and that was perfectly cooked. My gammon was beautiful, sausages were flavourful and my eggs and chips were that of a reasonable standard. Onto my pudding, I ordered the chocolate tart and that was extremely indulging, apparently it was a popular choice and I could most definitely see why! What made my visit that bit more special was that the staff had surprised me with a mini bottle of bubbly and a card. Little acts of care and kindness like this are the reasons why I review places. If you want to feel that bit more special on your special day I would recommend coming here. The decor is sleek but friendly with some added flair of style and a nice bar at the side with plenty of seating all round. It is both family friendly and relaxed date vibes. Mostly because of the staff, I will be coming back again! Thank you so much!

We normally quite enjoy it here at Brickfields, but today was a miss. We ordered Loaded nachos as a sharing starter but the portion was hardly sharing size and not "loaded" at all (around 1 tablespoon of pulled pork in total). For mains I had a Bacon and Blue Cheese salad, but sadly it was all blue cheese and no bacon (a total of one rasher cut into smaller pieces). Also they forgot croutons. Didn't skimp on the red onion though! My dessert, which I told myself I had earned because I had a salad for mains, was so disappointing and about half the size of the one pictured on the menu, and at £5.29 ever so disappointing. Flavour was fine but not at all worth the price paid. I don't like complaining and had it been just 1 miss I would have just forgotten about it, but it was the whole meal; the chef was simply not up to standard on this visit. I do feel bad for not bringing it up earlier with the staff so they could have done something about it while we were still eating but I was in two minds about saying something at all as the waitress was really lovely. Because of her, and because my companions were satisfied with their meals (save the shared starter)and our previous experiences have been good I've given a 3 although this visit was more like a 2 for me. We will definitely be back because we generally like it here, and I hope this was just a one off and next time will be better.

Popped in here today on the way back from Dover wish we hadn't bothered to start the man serving really does NOT listen. the picture attached is meant to be effectively cheese n bacon potato skins. They were sent back an refunded as I said I was not paying for what looks like chips someone has cut in half and thrown some cheese n bacon bits on top. The food turned up where is our side of onion rings oh not coming because again the server was NOT listening. The mixed grill upgraded to the sirloin as can't stand rump. Well the sirloin was so tough it was unedible I could of even said it was rump an not sirloin an just tasted metallic. Mrs Pizza was ok and my sons spag boll which this time compared to the bull in folkestone is actually proper spaghetti not shelled pasta. Staff haven't got a clue especially the manager when my mrs asked the manager to check with the kitchen that it was sirloin they cooked she responded with we don't do sirloin on the mix grill..... my Mrs says you do because i paid the extra to upgrade it the blank look said it all. oh dear a manger that does not even know her menu. Would not recommend this place at all as previous comments say staff useless and don't listen food mediocre at best.

We visited here before and after visiting Disneyland Paris. We booked 2 nights in total at the adjoined Premier Inn.

We were firstly disappointed upon arrival, having travelled over 5 hours to get here, with additional time to have our pre-travel Covid tests. We were told food wasn't served after 9pm, even though they were still serving other customers, some of which were Christmas parties. For a pub that is a joined to a hotel that offers 24hrs check-in and is located within minutes of the Eurotunnel that offers around the clock travel, I would have expected slightly longer hours for serving food.

Our experience was also disappointing for breakfast, we booked a table for 10am. We was greeted by a lady that had a very strong personality, one in which isn't customer focused and came across very harsh, something I didn't really appreciate after a late night arrival and verylittle sleep that night. After shortly starting to enjoy our breakfast we were then told they would be packing breakfast up, only offering us another 15mins to serve ourselves. This felt very rushed and wasn't offered this warning upon arrival. Again, I feel there should be slightly longer hours available considering the hotel and Eurotunnel operating hours. More flexibility should be offered, extending food options for room service.

Overall we didn't have the best experience here and really can't offer an opinion on the food, as we really didn't get much of an opportunity to try any.

However I will point out there's a Mcdonald's just a short drive away that offers food at more convenient times whilst also offering great views of the Folkestone harbour. I know its not a buffet breakfast but maybe its a cheaper and more convenient...
