A Hidden Gem in New Romney: The Coach House
My wife and I are not frequent diners, but when we do indulge, we seek out venues that offer great cuisine at reasonable prices. The Coach House in New Romney has consistently exceeded our expectations, earning the title of the best dining spot in town by a long shot!
What sets The Coach House apart is its dedication to quality. Every dish showcases ingredients of the highest caliber, with a focus on sourcing locally whenever possible. From farm-fresh produce to succulent meats, each bite is a testament to the Freds commitment to excellence.
It's disheartening to see recent reviews that fail to recognize the value of this small, local gem. These criticisms seem unjustified and out of touch with the realities of running a business like The Coach House. Perhaps these individuals would be better suited to the food and environment offered in a less classy establishment, but for those who appreciate genuine culinary craftsmanship, The Coach House is a true find.
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Fred and Hazel for their tireless dedication to delivering exceptional food. Their commitment to quality and passion for food shines through in every dish, making The Coach House a must-visit destination for anyone with an appreciation for fine cuisine. Thanks to Fred, Hazel, and the entire team for their...
Read moreThis place is very cute. The inside is nicely decorated and it looks like they have invested a significant amount of money into the kitchen/front of house. The blonde server we had was amazing and she was running that front of house like it was no one's business. It was disappointing to find out upon arrival that a Greek restaurant known for their gyros were out of their gyros. This was fine, we decided on one of the lunch sandwiches instead. Overall, the food is fresh and for the most part beautifully cooked. However, the chicken tasted overcooked and oily which was not balanced out with any type of acid to balance. Honestly, the dryness and greasiness of the chicken would be manageable with some type acidity and sauce been added. The fries were bland and didn't appear to be made in house. I could be wrong, but they did not taste fresh. Overall, it is a cozy little spot with great staff. Definitely not a bad stop, but if you are looking for something full of flavor this might not be the place.
EDIT: After taking a longer moment to read through the reviews, I am expecting the owners to treat me with the same professionalism and respect they have treated other criticisms of their establishment... which is with none. A shame owners are too quick to defend and insult valid criticisms rather than listen and be...
Read moreThis place was okay. A little weird the gyros were out at a Greek spot, but I see from some other posts that they might’ve just misplanned as a result of a trip or something.
Food was okay, service okay, the decor and flavor of the food was bland even though the seasoned fries look seasoned they taste bland and not fresh.
Not sure what the food service standard are over here as I’m an International traveler, but Hazel was eating with her fingers behind the counter and I did not see her wash her hands. Unsanitary and a bit weird. I understand everyone has to eat but as someone who worked in food service for close to 8 years I have never done that myself.
With the extended access to CCTV and the lengthy responses, I am sure I’ll be getting the most professional and calm reactions to this as a paying and honest customer who has nothing to gain from this— much like anyone else who makes a review. Consider myself prepared to get scalped 🤩🫡.
Edit: Point made, folks. This is such a strange response. Not normal. If this was a blatant attack I would’ve started it at 1 star— not three. But, given again the professionalism and the combination with multiple other experience I should give this place what...
