Fancied a relaxed Sunday lunch after a busy morning, I gave the Beaconsfield a quick call and was told they allow dogs in. I Walked down and found it not as busy as I expected the barman said it normally got busier later. I was more than happy it wasn’t too busy the atmosphere was just right for a relaxed Sunday afternoon a few friendly people in, the back ground music not too loud so you can chat with ease and sports on the TVs to watch. My beef Sunday dinner arrived in a reasonable time it was lovely, hot, full of flavour and more than enough to fill me up and I was very hungry on arrival. The barmaid came over at one point and mentioned there was free dog treats on the bar and asked if my dog would like some she then brought a cup full over for my dog and asked if my dog would like water and brought a bowl of water to. I was blown away by this, the likes of Wetherspoon’s have a blanket policy that dogs are not allowed I disagree with this and so won’t use Wetherspoon’s even without my dog. The exceptional dog friendly environment at the Beaconsfield made me make note that it is a Green King pub and I will actively look out for their pubs where ever I am in future. A big thank you to both staff working who were very professional...
Read moreFirst time me and my man tried this place,we walked in staff were amazing the atmosphere was fire and the wait time for food was quite quick .. That's where things went wrong, we ordered the 2 for 12.99 because who doesn't love a bargain... there is a bargain and then there is getting ripped a new one. I ordered chicken katsu and my man ordered bangers and mash, I dont know what I was expecting but it weren't what we got, the katsu chicken is NOT katsu chicken it's chicken goujon with chip shop curry sauce slathered everywhere which looked more like (forgive me) diarrhea on a plate with microwave rice and barely cooked chips I had 3 bites and left it there and then, my man came off worse with a child size portion on a plate with a "jug" (tiny gravy boat) of gravy. First and last time here, which is a shame cos like I said the place was lush the food let you down. P.s .. all my man keeps says is a 10a...
Read moreMy first experience in this establishment wasn't very favourite however I was told it was now under new management so we decided on a further visit. Sorry to say this visit wasn't any improvement on my previous one. We were a company of 18 who had all pre selected our meals. Most of us opted for the christmas dinner. When it eventually was served the brussel sprouts were like cannon balls and roast potatoes tasted as though they were frozen and certain didn't taste like roasties. Sorry to say I won't be returning. I did feel sorry for the waitresses as they were very pleasant and helpful under difficult circumstances - the main problem was they were under staffed although they were aware of the amount...
