What a huge disappointing disgrace. The girl who took our order was so miserable and unpleasant. She seemed irritated at being there, never mind doing her job, taking customers orders. Just as well we did not have any dietary issues. She got our order wrong. The young lad, who served the food, politely took the food away. Three of our children ordered pizza, a very small, bland pizza was served. Two other children ordered pasta, which did look nice. Our steaks arrived.... Barley warm, tasteless, greasy and a good half inch of grissle. Half a tomato, 1 mushroom and a few warm, dry chips. A very small portion of peppercorn sauce, at an extra cost of £1-50. We ASKED for our plates to taken away when the ice-cream arrived. There was service charged of over £9 which we we're not made aware of. Certainty was not earned. The one star is for the food being half decent, had many problems with my visit The gin seemed watered down The waiter forgot my sauce for my main and had to ask twice for it The air con was on one of the guests back so it was cold Before even ordering desert we were asked if we could move downstairs with our drinks since there was people waiting for a table We where not told there was a time limit We were not given the opportunity or felt we could order coffee after the meal When we finally left 2 of the the rude staff rolled there eyes in our direction You were lucky for the £3 tip which should go in the direction of the one bar staff member who seemed to be the only staff...

We visited here in January. One of our group had a pushchair and 2 small children, but staff were there immediately to assist us all up the stairs into the restaurant. Very welcoming and helpful. One of our group had very specific dietary requirements and the waitress checked with the chef and returned with a list of suitable meals for her, specially prepared. Our food was fresh and tasty and nice and hot. Although the restaurant was fairly quiet, it still had a lovely atmosphere and the waitress had time to chat with us in between courses.
