Greggs — Restaurant in Gateshead

my husband and I just call in b4 our 1hr 30min drive, my husband purchased a sandwich 2 lots of biscuits and asked for a hot water, the staff were clearly not happy at giving out the hot water which they put in the smallest cup they had, when my husband asked for another hot water he was told we are not allowed to give hot water (really?) if that’s the policy it’s ridiculous, the staff then proceeded when my husbands back was turned to talk amongst themselves loud enough and quite deliberately for him to hear saying ( who do they think they are coming in here for hot water) nice customers service there like, clearly we won’t be back here with these...

Well called in today for a lunchtime snack . We wanted a meal deal with the cooked sandwiches and wedges. No wedges at all. All empty with a 20 minute wait so we got the sandwiches without the deal still had to pay a higher price, I bought a fish finger wrap. It was AWFUL a cold manky looking fish finger don't think it was even fish inside it. In the bin went the wrap I wouldn't even consider eating it. The staff were not freindly or helpful at all also the day before popped in for a bacon roll and hash browns. Awful cold chewy hash browns. Put me right off going in there the hot sandwiches...

Newly refurbished, seating inside. But still massive queues! Waited in the queue for 20 minutes to then get to the front and there's no sausage rolls, 15 minute wait for them. Surely better planning and production management is needed if the staff can't plan timings when there's little hot produce out... example : currently 5 festive bakes, 4 cheese and onion pasties, no vegan sausage rolls, 4 steak etc etc... and it's only 1:30pm! Update: cold fresh sausage rolls came out...supposedly from the oven.. lies...
