Chutneys has for a long time been a family favourite and we often get a takeaway on special occasions. This occasion was my wife’s birthday and we were keen to see if things had changed since the change in ownership. We ordered over the phone and were told to come and collect in 45 mins (a very reasonable time since we phoned as the restaurant opened). Upon returning with our food we were initially impressed with how it was placed in the carrier bags as they had included extra cardboard to separate the takeaway boxes. The starters were the same quality we have come to expect (if not a little better) and we all enjoyed ourselves, my eldest daughter was very taken with her prawn chat on puri. When it came to the main courses my youngest had her usual Chana Bhaji (it’s a side dish but is comfortably enough food for a 10yo), my wife enjoyed her Salmon Jalfrezi, my parents in law also enjoyed their Lamb Vindaloo and Chicken Korma and my Chickhen Bhuna was an absolute delight. My eldest ordered Lamb Jalfrezi as she is trying to expand her curry tastebuds. Unfortunately she found the curry to spicy for her (I tasted it as did my father in law and we all agreed that it probably wasn’t a Jalfrezi as it was a different colour to my wife’s sauce and it had a lot more spice). As a result we phoned Chutneys to tell them there had been a mistake with our order and ask if we could return the dish we had and get a the one we ordered. Chutneys said that they didn’t want the dish back but we could pop down and get a replacement, the only thing that they wanted from us was a few photos of the dish so they could see what had gone wrong. Upon arrival at the restaurant the photos were looked at and the manager said that even though it looked like a Jalfrezi to him (there were peppers in the sauce) he would still replace it. Chutneys looks to be in safe hands with the really good customer service we have come to expect and a range of...

Read more2 of us dined here yesterday (Sunday evening) last minute and were welcomed warmly as walk ins. We noticed everything was beautifully clean and modern, with a nice cozy atmosphere. Starters were exceptional and beautifully presented, mains were equally impressive with generous portions. I can recommend the lamb chops- cooked to perfection in a delicious sauce with depth of flavour. Service was super friendly and efficient. We had previously tried the other local Indian restaurants on different occasions with Miahs being our last to 'tick off' and were in agreement it was our favourite! Will...
