The Moulders Arms — Restaurant in Gateshead

Me and the family came here for Sundays mothers day dinner, mainly due to Corey, pub manager.

Anywhere Corey works as a chef I follow because the quality/presentation of food is always 10/10 and I'm a very particular, ocd, espergers, attention to detail and quality.

When we arrived I was disappointed to hear he wasn't chef today but thought with him being here the place must be good and the standards would be of similar grade, so we were eager to see what the food was like.

Ok to start, prawns cocktail looked and appeared average, although the lettuce had black on it so I'm assuming spoilt and not fresh.

Garlic mushrooms weren't great, ill expand further,, bread was OK, wild mushrooms appeared half cooked, small amount, and the sauce was watery and bitter, not the usual thickness as you would imagine it to be.

Slow roast beef was of 2 different cuts, a few portions were as described no complaints there, but the other few cuts were impossible to cut and pull and completely different standard, definitely not as described see attached video of the beef.

Mash was average, carrots were slightly charred, puddings were average, gravy was OK, highlight was the sweed which was very nice, a few lumps in it as I like it and nice texture.

Overall, hospitality was good, very attentive, bottles of lemonade were very small.

But food wise, very disappointing, will not return until proper...

Haven't been here for ages as there always seemed to be problems however will be back soon as it is now definitely worth a visit. Good sized car park with bar and lounge areas.Tuesday lunchtime saw us trying the fish and chips with the chips esp being fabulous 👌 . Fish was huge and tasty served with peas and tartar sauce. Used to come here all the time. The food was delicious especially the Sunday diners and puddings. Since it’s been took over it seems to be full of crowds of young boys/men in the garden area all the time. Right next to the children’s play area!!??? Which my 3 children loved to play on, unfortunately not any more. Was a lot of bad language aswell which is disappointing as it’s always been family friendly. This has been a huge...
