Hi All We visited Goathland on 1/6/2019 and called in the Goathland (Aidensfield arms) Hotel for a drink as my wife Wendy is an Heartbeat fan and wanted to have a drink where they filmed the program . In all a nice experience!
We then decided to call a the old garage (Scripps) to have a look around We were met by a man who at first criticised my choice of shirt , it having a Mod print on the front I explained that it had been bought for me as a present and that I have been a motorcyclist all my life . His attitude changed and he went on to tell us about his exploits at the Isle of Man TT racers , the conversation went on for a while and my wife and sister purchased some Heartbeat memorabilia including three Heartbeat caps .
We walked down to the old Railway Station and one of the hats came apart and the other two were also found to be faulty , we took the hats two of which had NOT been worn back to Scripps for a replacement only to be told to go away as the hats don't just fall apart (obviously they do)
We found this man to be arrogant , rude and offensive
Do not buy the Blue Heartbeat hats or anything else from this establishment they are substandard tat You have been warned! check out all other reviews of the above establishment and you will understand
This man is not fit to run a shop and is praying on visitors especially the elderly

Read moreLooks lovely from the outside - but beware of the monster within!! We went yesterday (30th April 2013), the weather was beautiful and we hopped off the train excited to see the village where Heartbeat was filmed. We arrived at Scripps Garage took some photos outside and went in to pick up a couple of little souvenirs, tea-towels and magnets. My step-father took a few photos at the back of the garage (which is a part of the shop) and then all hell let loose - Bob, the guy who runs it went absolutely mental, saying we should have asked before taking photos, we did apologise, but he went on and on! ....he was so abusive, apparently there was a sign showing a camera with a cross through it, but it was so small and hidden you could barely see it! He was so rude, that I put the items back that I was going to buy and then he starting screaming at me about not putting the tea-towel back quite how I found it - I have never met such a horrible, rude man, particularly as he is supposed to be in the tourist industry - who does he thinks pays for his bread and butter?!! On asking in some other shops in the village, apparently they agreed that he is an embarrassment to the village! My advice is to look from the outside - BUT DON'T BOTHER TO GO IN! and certainly don't waste your money in...
Read moreYou can clearly see why there is no trip advisor for scripps garage, I have never thought I would see the day i would check if any buisness had an review rating option for 0, well today is that day well do they? because if there was I would certainly press it and this would be for Bob wood his name is in the the guide of heartbeat, he might be a clever man when it comes to restorations on motorcycles, as motorcyclist myself I thought this would be worth a look and being heartbeat, even better for our road trip how wrong I was, Bob is a extremly rude man who needs a course in costumer service skills, morrisons/tescos and even liddls staff know how to treat customers, i am sorry that we took photos of the Ford anglia which is described as getting more attention from tourists than your shop in the book and your sign for no photos that was so small that we did not even see it, only found that out by reading the other negative reviews, if you don't want to own a tourist attraction I would say buy a normal shop, or go back to restoring classic bikes in normal garage that way you don't need to worry about us tourists and we would not have to put up with your lack of...
