Brunch — Restaurant in Great Britain

I met my mum here for coffee and ended up having soup and a toasted sandwich.

I went for the chicken chorizo mozzarella toasted sourdough and the lentil soup.

But when it arrived there was no mozzarella on it, the chicken was cold as if from the fridge but the chorizo was warm. I did say to the girl can I have the chicken chorizo instead of saying it with mozzarella I thought she would have known from the menu that it was the one with mozzarella. I thought it was a bit of a mouthful to say! The soup was really nice I'd have it again.

The layout looked nice inside and out. No table service, so had to be ordered at the counter which meant having to squeeze by another table of customers by a pillar to order.

It's on the main road so good for passing by traffic, not great parking round there tho I did manage to park right outside it.

Not sure if I'll be back or...

TL;DR = Save your custom for a shop that offers customer service and warm coffee!

Popped in for a quick roll and coffee...worst idea in a long time! The woman behind the till exhibits all the symptoms of someone who does not like what they're doing and really shouldn't be doing it. If they're not the owner, then they're living on borrowed time.

Cold coffee, squashed up roll with a microwaved filling (no sauce because you would have to ask the customer...)served in take away format because the aforementioned woman doesn't communicate with customers.

Thank goodness for the young lady in the kitchen who offered a plate and some napkins...at least there's one competent...

Every once in a while a place comes along with perfect results in all aspects of it. One such place is Brunch cafe in Thornwood. I've had both the VE smashed avocado & mushroom and the sriracha stack. Both outstanding. The roast tomato & red pepper soup with basil is an example of a deftly balanced soup with perfect acidity and sweetness of the tomatoes and red peppers. Often soups like these, thought to be easy to make, are imbalanced with a poor texture. Not here. Top marks for atmosphere and service. Highly...
