Burger King — Restaurant in Great Britain

I had to check my wallet upon exiting this Burger King, as it felt like an absolute scam. After not eating at a Burger King for a few years now (probably a good idea with hindsight) I thought it was a good idea to try the Cardiff Gate establishment. Upon arrival to the order screen, many products were out of stock. Ketchup, BBQ Sauce, Dr Pepper and the entire hot drinks menu to name a few. A disappointing start. Nonetheless, I decided to try a few flagship products. I'm not somebody you would classify as a food snob by any means. Cheap and cheerful usually takes preference. However, in paying £15 or more for a single burger meal, surely one can expect something half decent. The burger i received had an extremely damp bottom bun, to the point of where my hands got wet from picking it up. The patties were your typical hockey puck fast food "burgers" with the selling point of the flame grilling initially tasting pleasant but getting old quickly. Cheese was melted but was of the American variety. Here's the big issue. These burgers are almost indentical to what you can get on the McDonald's saver menu, but for double or triple the price. I had a veggie whopper for the first time, really nice actually. The fries were fine, but the portion was ridiculously small. I asked for coffee and got it but it was extremely strong and needed 10 sachets of sugar to make it drinkable and lots of the little plastic tubes of 'milk'. Not great. Also, there weren't any small packets of salt, seemingly they aren't provided. Why? Of course they should be. Ketchups, etc, had to be asked for rather than being available for customers to help themselves, which, from the customer's point of view is likely to be preferable. Don't Burger King make a vast enough profit that they can't afford the loss of some ketchup? Incidentally, it would be better and more environmentally friendly if it was in dispensers rather than individual packets. The staff seemed like they would rather have been doing anything else rather than that. Fair enough, it's not the best job in the world, but it's the one they are doing. We were second person in line to order and it took them 25 minutes to make four hamburgers. Seriously in that 25 minutes only two other people got food, one was the guy who ordered before us and the other was a guy who ordered after us but it was just a single item of chicken fries.

Three employees working so no reason for it to take 25 minutes. Hamburgers were great no complaints there but all four fries were hot, but still crunchy and a bit raw inside. Finally got our food after 25 minutes and was missing our specialty fry.

Seriously, we stopped because we were traveling and hungry and wanted something quick to get back on road, but we could’ve been home faster than they got...
