Very disappointed with our visit this morning. We are two vegans and asked a staff member if any of the Christmas drinks were vegan, he then got his manager. The manager said "we've had this with vegans before, none of our Christmas drinks are vegan" Us: oh ok no problem, is your hot chocolate vegan, we're only asking because we see on Facebook that it is but thought we'd double check Manager: I can show you the folder if you want, hot chocolate isn't vegan. Us: no problem at all Manager: now can you move forward so I can let more people into the building, and then apologised to the two people behind us for the long wait insinuating it was us that was holding everyone up . The manager also said to us the information is all on the website in a rude way in front of other customers making out we were the reason there was a hold up. He then got the order wrong of the customer next to us. I used to work for Costa, the busiest Costa in Cardiff. He doesn't seem to have good communication skills with customers and can't deal with stress it seems. He did not offer us any alternative and suggest anything that was vegan so we ordered a latte with soya milk, the barista did not use the right jug as it previously had cocoa powder in with normal milk. We were made to feel a big inconvenience, we won't be coming to this store again, very disappointed, I wouldn't have dreamed talking to customers like that when I worked in park place Costa years ago. I think the manager's name badge said Ryan, he then proceeded to be very upbeat and nice to subsequent customers when it became quieter. On a positive note, the vegan toastie we tried was delicious, we'll be having this again at a...
Read moreI normally love coming here but today has put me off returning.
I have never faulted the staff before but when you advertise online and instore that you are open till 5 on a Sunday you dont expect to be rudely told to leave at 4pm? We were not the only table confused about being told to leave at 4? I wouldn't have minded so much if we were told politely but the young girl with brown hair huffed and puffed and when questioned about the actual closing time she very rudly and abruptly said "um no it does close at 4 actually"
Around quater to 4 my mum went to use the loo to find they were locked, my mum has bladder problems and cant hold on. She was told someone must have been using them by the same young girl but clearly they locked them early to save themselves time as no one left and i was sat facing them the whole time. Why lie? Especially when there are people in the world with genuine needs.
Fyi, I have worked for whitbread for years. Never once have I come accross a member of staff so rude, she was clearely desperate to go home but aren't we all in the hospitality/ catering industry, maybe whitbread are doing good leaving someone with an attitude like hers for Coca-Cola. She needs her customer service skills addressed asap. It ruined a time where me and my mum were meeting up to talk about a stressful situation I am in my day is now worse because of...
Read moreI come here because of the convenient location but they close more than half the cafe down at 5.30 despite the fact it's open til 7! Only 2 staff. One repeatedly sweeps floor, the other has a queue for coffee and makes a distinctly mediocre cup. Not good. The place has gone downhill since it opened. Definitely needs a manager who cares. Unwelcoming atmosphere due to perpetual closing time attitude. Also it's always a bit too cold inside. Think staff are enthusiastic about aircon. At least they are ok! I hate myself for...
