Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Great Britain

Unfortunately I really didn’t have a good experience here this morning. The decaf cappuccino was served well by the man at the coffee machine, but it just tasted of hot milk and I couldn’t drink it. It was quite busy at the till which may have contributed to the fact I not feel the interaction was as good as usual between the teller and myself, I couldn’t see the card machine and she was not very helpful as she didn’t show me where it was, just handed my card back without a word and looked at me strangely. Never seen a single barista work so efficiently taking orders whilst preparing drinks. Went in on an extremely busy Saturday morning and was served quicker than ever by one incredible member of staff who seemed to seamlessly prepare everyone's drinks, make toasties and take orders on her own. I take my hat off to people who can multitask like that. The staff working the morning 27/1/24 are a credit to the company. My sister and i frequently have a coffee and sandwhich here. We enjoy the coffee and friendly staff. Our criticism is since the covid when hygiene was high, the standards have dropped. Almost everytime we visit, we have to remove pots from the table and clean the table too. We look around and see piles of pots on the tables. When staff do take away the pots, they do not wipe the tables down! Why, it takes seconds to do this. When hygiene and health and safety is important, this is essential!! Regards mrs s.
