Crispy Dosa Bedford ( Indian Vegetarian Restaurant ) — Restaurant in Great Britain

The food itself was pleasant, and as this branch is a recent addition to the restaurant chain, it is understandable that there may still be a few initial challenges to overcome.

However, I found the experience to be overpriced for the quality and portion size provided. The chickpea curry (£8.99), with additional charges for bread, did not represent good value for money. For that price, I would have expected the channa to be served with a bhatura included.

It would also have enhanced the experience if all dishes had been served simultaneously, as the staggered service detracted from the overall meal.

On a positive note, the staff were exceptionally polite and courteous — in particular, Suresh, Sri Ram, Pujitam, and Vyshnavi deserve recognition for their pleasant demeanour and attentive service. That said, there was a noticeable language barrier, which occasionally made communication difficult.

I would be open to revisiting in a few months’ time to see how the restaurant has progressed, but on this occasion, the experience unfortunately did not meet...

Having been teased it’s arrival since the summer we were super excited to hear Crispy Dosa was finally opening in Bedford.

We didn’t make a reservation but were given a table fairly quickly and the food came out very fast and piping hot.

The portions are large and generous with great flavour in every bite. We really enjoyed all of the dishes we ordered: chilli paneer, plain dosa, pizza utthapam, mini idlis.

Whilst we were very full at this point, it doesn’t take us much persuasion to go for dessert and we were very surprised at how good the paan ice cream was!
