CHICKLICIOUS & DESSERTS — Restaurant in England

came here to treat my 3 little ones after school. wish i hasn’t bothered! Place Needs a deep clean. not very nice at all, gym stuck to tables, spilt food down side of table, tatty seats with foam showing through. icecream tasted very odd! did not like it. Ordered rainbow cake, honestly thought it was a display cake only, given to us by mistake! it was rock hard, i banged it on the counter to show the lady just how vile it was!! waffles were ok, lacking any toppings, very very tight on the toppings! maple syrup waffle i wasnt excepting it to be so very dry, it waS very dry! Very limited drinks, no diet coke/coke, no fruit shoots for kids. no smiles with service. the place was dead. now i know why! i would not...

I'm not usually one to write reviews, but when it comes to Dessert Island, I feel compelled to share my experience. Every time I've ordered or dined in, it has been exceptional. You can tell the staff truly love what they do, and it reflects in everything they make. Their waffles are like magic, the ice cream always tastes fresh and delicious, and the cakes are truly top-notch. It’s clear that everything is made with care and passion. Honestly, I have nothing negative to say. The only thing that could elevate Dessert Island even further is its interior design. The place has dropped its standards very low. They seem more busy with take away orders than customers dining in front of them. Place was dirty, sticky tables and extremely dirty chairs that have not been wiped clean for a very long time. Customer service was very depressing, no smile, no hello, nothing. Food was served with minimum effort. Even my kids refused to sit on the chairs but as it was late and we have already ordered I had no choice but to sit through after asking them to clean one of the tables. There were dried food, wet food all over the floor around the table, on the chairs. This is a big fail...
