Himalaya — Restaurant in Great Britain

Ordered from this place with a lot of expectations after seeing the good reviews but after tasting the food, I am really disappointed. Very poor taste and not at all good Indian food. Chicken Passanda was like a sweet dish - exaggerated amount of sugar has gone in to make the dish sweet. Passanda preparations are not so sweet. The vegetable korma was tasteless and extremely oily. The cheese garlic naan barely had any garlic flavour or taste of cheese. To be honest I am really surprised how people have liked the food so much. Could be due to lack of optionsin the area. The food is very much average if not below. Another thing to mention, the place offers additional food beyond your order when doing takeaway. Although I appreciate the gesture but it should be kept in mind on what food you are giving that too without mentioning. I was given a starter with Lamb - a meat which I not eat. Had to take a bite to realise what it has. I would appreciate a note or a mention of any dish that I am not ordering to accordingly decide to eat or not. Overall a very disappointed customer experience...

Hands down the best Indian my partner and I have had!! First time ordering from Himalaya, we were staying away and it sounded great, we had a set meal for 2, and I was really impressed that you get to pick from a huge variety of options (all our locals don’t offer options, it’s the set meal as it comes take it or leave it) The portions were HUGE, tasty, cooked well; we were given A LOT of extras for free which we didn’t expect, (an extra chicken starter, lots of extra poppadoms, an egg fried rice, a saag aloo, extra chutneys, and a roti!!) we were easily given enough to feed 4 people!! We read that Himalaya will soon be opening as a restaurant and we can’t wait to visit with our family and friends!! Thank you so much for an amazing meal, we look forward to being...

Just picked another beautiful curry up from the Himalayan, I was also given onion bhajis , vegetable curry, samosas and chicken pieces free with popadoms and chutneys !!! It’s the same every time I order from here lots of freebies given every single time. Rang them back up to say thank you and I really appreciate their generosity!! I have never had a bland meal from here and can’t recommend this take away enough. The only thing I will say is I can’t wait for the place to open as a restaurant!!! Best Indian food for miles and wouldn’t go anywhere else after tasting their food !! Well done guys see you soon...
