In The Dog House — Restaurant in Great Britain

Called in on the way back from saltburn, after reading the reviews thought we’d give it a try. When we arrived the staff behind the bar were correcting a wrong order, not the best start. We sat outside which was pleasant however then waited around 15 minutes for a drink to arrive. After waiting 35 minutes I asked where our paninis were, the young lad looked puzzled and said ‘we’ve had a lot of food on’. When they arrived there was no presentation, nothing like the photos posted on here with a small side salad. There was hardly any mozzarella cheese in it, dry and unappetizing, the chicken one the same, very sparse. We also noticed the people sitting next to us were asking where his toasted sandwich was after waiting too long. The coffee was the only nice part about this place. I've had some lovely times with my grandchildren here, the staff were always so kind and accommodating to us. However this time I visited alone and basically just wanted tea and cake. As the waitress ( Sophie ) asked how I wanted to pay, because I rarely pay with cash I said card, however then realised I had enough to pay with cash. The waitress wasn't happy as she had already rung the amount in the till and said she'd prefer card, I asked to pay cash at which point she rolled her eyes and said she preferred card, I asked why it was a problem to which she accused me of being aggressive, there was a couple of people sat close by who agreed this wasn't the case. Needless to say I left very upset, and so disappointed that one person can spoil such a lovely...

We called for lunch after a lovely walk along the beach. The staff were amazing and made us feel very welcome. There was a lovely atmosphere, the food was excellent. The experience did not stop there, as when we were returning to our car, one of our party fell in the road. Not only did the staff come out to help but also the staff from the dog grooming next door took care of our two dogs. The whole community helped . Thankfully the 90 year old lady who fell is now safely at home. So many thanks to everyone. But especially to "In the dog house" staff. With that care we will certainly be back.
