Rushey Pani Puri — Restaurant in Great Britain

We placed an order for chips and cheese and sat inside hoping to receive a hot meal. After 10 minutes we were given warm chips with stone cold cheese grated on top. The cheese was so cold, it still had the condensation left over from the fridge! My wife kindly requested the staff to remove the cheese as this was not the ‘cheesy chips’ we were expecting, however still happy to eat the warm chips. After finishing eating, I kindly requested for the staff member who took our payment to return the 75p extra we had paid for the cheese. Her response was - “ you have wasted our cheese, so you are not getting a refund”. I reminded her that we returned the cheese as it was borderline frozen, and more importantly, we did not consume the cheese. The response and attitude we received from this member of staff was rude and disrespectful. I was told I was wrong for asking for a refund for the cheese and not to argue with her. I requested for her to call the manager/owner and clarify why I am being charged for something I returned and did not eat. I was repeatedly told that I was wrong for asking to return 75p and told to leave, sarcastically being asked to come back again for another meal. After remaining in the restaurant, the call was finally made to the owner/manager and the rude member of staff was immediately told to return my money. Again I was told by the member of staff as she returned my 75p that I was wrong for asking for part of my money back, for food that I returned and did not consume. A note to the owner - Rushey sweet Mart has gained its reputation through quality food produce, complimented by friendly and attentive staff, however from our experience ‘Rushey Pani Puri’ is a complete contrast to this. Total dive. Food poisoning and diarrhoea following a small meal here. Appaling standards.

Visited yesterday and was the worst food in all of Leicester. Surely they should know as Indians we are aware what chaat puri is. A simple snack food. Appalingly it was served as a liquid curry with puri pieces floating in spicy green liquid not chutney black chana exactly 10 clumps of potato and no papri nor dahi. No dates chutney. Its a shame such a recipe was served as chaat puri. The manchurian rice was again a shame and just reheated rice with the hardest manchurian balls, they were rock hard. Unpalatable. There was no one at the till to attend and no response to the bell. We had to just leave paying for unhygienic poorly prepared food that's given us diarrhoea and upset stomach with food poisoning as the rice dish was simply reheated. Surely, owner of this place should be ashamed, apologetic at the standard of food served. Not to mention the poor service but most of all to confuse papri chaat served as puri batata floating in green curry sauce. Reheated manchurian rice that caused food poisoning. Will be writing to food hygiene authorities on the standard of food served. Avoid this place...

The reason for 2 star is justified. In actual fact I was going to put 1 star. Hope the owner sees this and love to hear his/her comments. Ordered my take away at 5.50pm and was told it will be 15 -20 minutes to prepare food and ready for collection. I turned up at 6.10pm and was told its coming. There was a lady prior to me also had same experience. She Ordered hers half hour before and also had to wait. Anyway after few minutes wait I asked lady how long Is it before I can have my order. She said its coming. Also the communication between staff and kitchen is a lot to be desired. I said 2 times to the same lady what I had ordered and yet she asks me again. Also when I came I told the other lady what I have come for. When the order finally arrived at 6.25pm she said u paid for it . I was honest and said no I need to pay. I actually told the lady how I felt as a customer kept waiting and the lady prior to me. The lady just stared at me as if she don't understand what we were saying!!!!. No acknowledgement either.
