Tangoe Restaurant — Restaurant in England

Hi i was very disappointed with my recent visit especially with the food and the menu. What the menu promising to be in the menu does not match the item at the restaurant which highly disappointing and upsetting as its literally misleading customers and it really spoils the moment and the atmosphere of the occasion. Yes the menu at the restaurant had crossed out the bread and naan but orders naan as a starts so we looked at the starts and ordered it. Later when we looked at the menu A- it was limited collection from the curries to choose B- there was no naan. Apparently the restaurant stop doing naan because there was not enough order however then why the website still advertising naan and bread as one of the item of the menu. Whicj is POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND MISLEADING. After we finished the starts we ordered mains although there was hardly any option to choose as there was no bread/naan so we ordered daal and rice and a pareen curry. Normally in any restaurant well the most restaurants that i have been to give out different plates for starts and mains which to me is common. However on this occasion/visit I had to ask can we have some new plates and then was question how many do i want knowing we already given back most of the plated used for starts so therefore surely we need the same amount of plates. But once SOME new plates given i got questioned again if we needed more. We was family of 10 people but only some plates was given. During the experience i had to keep asking the staff to switch on AC as it was way too hot and uncomfortable to sit and i don’t understand why they had to keep turn it off as top of my head i asked 3 times and all the 3 times AC turns on and goes off after awhile which i personally feel its not good.

I AM TOTALLY AND TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE MENU AND THE ITEMS NOT AVAILABLE. Yes no doubt the staff member was friendly but i was just disappointed with menu selections and items not available.

I would appreciate if the website at least update the menu and relook other alternatives instead of naan or bread or have more other dishes available to balance out naan or...

Absolutely disappointed! Placed my order online, received a confirmation email to say the order will be ready in half an hour, only to find out they had rejected the order once I got there. They had no courtesy to call or send an email to say they have cancelled our order. The cancellation was all due to them not serving naan even though this was an option on the menu.

They didn’t seem bothered when I wasn’t happy the order was not ready. The girl at the desk is clueless and definitely has no customer service skills.

They then told me they can make the order. Which I then asked the lady to ring me when the food is done so I can wait in the car because it was getting busy in there. She turned around and said she can’t and does not have time. Within 2 minutes the man came out with the bags and told me they are giving me other peoples food to prevent a delay. This could have been food that was just sat there or left overs.

I had already paid online but they demanded me to make another payment as they couldn’t see the payment go through but I had proof it did.

I told them I no longer want to take the order. The guy turned around and said to me “should’ve just said you didn’t want it! Anyway bye I don’t have time”

The customer service was shocking and would not recommend this place at all. They have no manners and do not care about customers.

On a previous occasion they had missed a dish from my order and did not arrange no delivery or...

We ordered and picked up the food order at 2:00pm today (20/08/25). We had ordered Crispy Bhajiya, Chilli Paneer, Crispy Aubergine and Chef's special rice. Unfortunately our experience today missed the mark considerably. The Crispy Bhajiya had thick clumps of batter attaced to them potato rings and were hard to chew. The Crispy Aubergine were just battered and fried aubergine and looked like they hadn't been marinated and very chewy! The Chilli paneer and Special rice were passable but not to the standard we would expect from Tangoe! We were discussing and assuming this may have been due to the normal chef being away! We'll definitely hesitate before dropping in again.

As we were in the vicinity for shopping and it was lunchtime, we couldn't resist the pull of Tangoe, so we placed an online order for pickup for Crispy Bhajias, Crispy Aubergine and of course Chilli Paneer. Delivery time promised was 15 minutes and was ready when we got there! The taste as expected was excellent!
