Sol Tapas Spanish Restaurant — Restaurant in Great Britain

Recently booked the private dining room for a family meal after my Mother’s funeral. We ordered the set Tapas menu at £25 per head. Initially we were worried there wouldn’t be enough food so we added some bread baskets on - that was a big mistake - there was so much food! We were all stuffed and then they brought out further dishes of paella! We couldn’t fit it all in! The slow braised beef in Rioja and the Chicken Diane were particularly popular dishes. The croquettes of the day were sublime and properly cooked with béchamel rather than mashed potato. They even offered to wrap it all up for us to take home. From the minute we walked in, I realised something was not right. We have been frequent visitors over the past years and always enjoyed the atmosphere and the food on offer. Not this time. I normally have a selection of the Tapas, but I decided on the Chicken and Prawn Piella. Mistake, there was no taste to it at all, and when I asked for chillie oil to enhance the flavour, nothing was available. Normally, I would complain, but as it was my wife's birthday treat from our son, I declined to do so. Once the meal was over, it became apparent that no one liked what they got. While sat there I checked on social media and discovered that the manager we always dealt with was no more involved. The so called family run restaurant was no more. Will not be returning. Shame, as it was always worth the distance...

Went out for our Girls Christmas night out. Absolutely awful table not suitable asked to be moved the table we got had no cutlery or glasses. When the cutlery arrived some of it was dirty as were the plates. There were thick black cobwebs hanging in the corner above us. Service shocking one of our party is still waiting for one of the courses as it didn't arrive, one of our party was sat for at least 10 minutes with no food while the rest of us ate, food not that nice had better Tapas elsewhere.

I dread to think what the kitchen must be like if the state of the restaurant is anything to go by the cleaner needs sacking, thats if they have one at all.
