Stayed here for one night on the 12th of September. The building is fairly new and clean. The rooms as usual were very clean. The hotel is in an excellent location, however parking isn't free. So bear that in mind if this could be an issue. The staff who were in on the night when we arrived were lovely and really helpful. Tea service was very nice and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. But then came breakfast. We came down around half past 9. So with plenty of time to have a nice breakfast. Unfortunately, the member of staff who was running the breakfast service couldn't have been more useless. All she was interested in, was talking to two families I can only presume she knew personally. There were no plates, no pastries left. The milk had ran out for the cereal. Was any of this filled or replaced while we were there? Nope. The woman who was working, didn't fill or replace any items that were missing. We tried to catch her attention, but she was too pre occupied having a good gossip with a family she obviously knew. In the end we gave up and walked away not at all impressed with the service. There was still about 50 minutes left of breakfast, and unless you wanted something hot. There were literally no other options. As everything else was empty. No bread, no milk, no pastries. Nothing has been refilled and no small plates available to put things on anyway. Very disappointed. I've not seen someone so disinterested in doing their job in a long time. What a shame.

Really good location close to lots of food restaurants, the hotel itself is new and so the rooms are clean and the beds are really comfortable. Only given for starts as I felt the breakfast let it down, you pay 9.50 for unlimited breakfast but the food is prepared very early in the morning, I went down at 6.40 (opens at 6.30) by then the food was already under the hot plate and getting dry. Scrambled eggs were tasteless and the only saving grace was the fact you could order poached and fried eggs fresh to order which definitely is a must. Seating is very small which also goes to the food options on the table very small and not worth the 9.50. O would even venture to say it might be worth going elsewhere to get s decent breakfast.

Lovely modern hotel, helpful and friendly staff, clean comfertable room. Just a tad disappointed with breakfast, a little sparse yet fully priced. Just apples and bananas in fruit bowl. Several items missing (see photo below). Also the description "sensational" vegan sausage is subjective. Parking is adjacent to hotel (see map below). If you're parking for 24 hours or more I would recommend you download the 'connectcashlessparking' app and register before you arrive. Entrance to the hotel is through the car park. Try and get room on East elevation, view is much better.

Location, location, location! Couldn't be more true when it comes to this hotel. The entire look of the building - with the stepped terraces overlooking the river - and this view plumb in the middle of town centre. What a location! Combine that with a range of dining options - a number of restaurants next door or 5min walking distance. Add all this to a 10min walk to Darlington train station. And you have a near perfect location. Though we didn't get to explore the town much but the hotel surroundings itself were time (& money) well spent. Despite the gloomy weather (this was the start of a 5 day downpour that brought most parts of England to a standstill), yet the hotel setting and staff were the silver lining. The ever smiling front desk staff who checked us in and came to the rescue when we accidentally got trapped behind fire door while taking stairs (a minor H&S issue) but we walked into it believing it was 1st floor when it clearly didn't have any such signs - so our fault. And in the morning we encountered the super efficient restaurant manager who was overseeing the service and the front desk checkouts - all with a smile and a great service attitude. Having stayed in most of Premier Inns across the country past 12 years or so, Premier Inn Darlington provides the same levels of comfort and amenities but it excels because of its location and most importantly the service orientated attitude of its staff! Well done to the staff, managers & bosses of this establishment - a truly exceptional 4...

Premier inn was the first priority of accomodation i prefered to stay all the time till i book a room in premier inn Darlington on April 26 to 29 2024.im really disappointed with the stay there.the room that i got was very cleaned and tidy but i think there is no electricians are working there because in my room our heating system was working but to turn the temperature up.The temperature down swith was broken at the place of temperature down swith there was a hole in it i think the customers used to operate the temperature down button with the help of some kind of tools like pen or something but i didn't do anything because i was scared to do that and i keep turned off the heater all the time. This is not exact problem that make me disappointed with the hotel.i came with my girlfriend to stay there. On 28th of April she was fell down on the road and she had a scratch on her knee at that time so we asked for some first aid to the receptionist and that lady s reply was shocking she told me that there is no first aid with them and they teased me and said "add some water on that and put a tissue paper on it".i was really sad with there racist behaviour i am sure that they behave like that because im from another country. This incident was happed on afternoon of 28th April.im really shocked that there is no first aid in one of the reputed and famous hotel. And i think they are not ensuring there...
